Hi Catarina, Drops Nepal is from the same yarn group as Drops Air, so can be used for this pattern. As long as you knitting tension is correct, the hat should be of the measurements given in the text. Regards, Drops Team.

Står det feil antall cm på vrangborden?
22.03.2026 - 13:29DROPS Design answered:
Hei Renate.

Don’t understand decrease instructions decrease every 2nd round 7 times. On round 2 how many am I decreasing, at each thread marker?
13.11.2025 - 03:23DROPS Design answered:
Hi Deborah, You follow the Decrease Tip under Explanations and decrease 1 stitch on each side of each marker (2 x 3 = 6 stitches decreased on the round). Work 1 round without decreasing then decrease again on the next round in the same way (6 stitches decreased). Work these 2 rounds a total of 7 times (14 rounds worked and 42 stitches decreased in total). Regards, Drops Team.

My grandchildren are allergic to wool. Is there another yarn you could suggest to make these beanies?
22.03.2024 - 22:22DROPS Design answered:
Dear Deb, you can chose any other yarn from our yarn-group C, or any other yarn combination that adds up to the thickness of the C yarn group. Please make sure, you always do a gauge swatch, and recalculate number accordingly, but recalculations are seldom needed, if you choose within the same yarn group. Happy Knitting.

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- DECREASE TIP: Work until there are 3 stitches left before the marker-thread, knit 2 together, knit 2 (marker-thread sits between these 2 stitches), slip 1 stitch knit-wise, knit 1 and pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch (2 stitches decreased). Repeat at each marker-thread. ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- HAT - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: The hat is worked in the round, bottom up. Begin with circular needle and change to double pointed needles as you decrease towards the top. HAT: Cast on 92-96-100-104 stitches with circular needle size 3.5 mm and DROPS Air. Work rib in the round (knit 1, purl 1) for 8-9-10-11 cm. Knit 1 round and decrease 8-9-10-8 stitches evenly spaced = 84-87-90-96 stitches. Change to circular needle size 4 mm and continue with stocking stitch until the piece measures 18-19-21-23 cm (approx. 7-8-8-8 cm left to finished length). REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! Insert 3 marker-threads between 2 stitches and with 28-29-30-32 stitches between each thread. Read DECREASE TIP and decrease every 2nd round 7-7-7-8 times in total, then every round 4-5-5-5 times = 18-15-18-18 stitches. On the next round, knit 0-1-0-0, then knit all stitches together 2 and 2 = 9-8-9-9 stitches. Cut the strand, pull it through the stitches, tighten and fasten well. The hat measures 25-27-2931 cm. Fold 5-6-7-8 cm of the rib up to the right side and fasten with a couple of stitches. The hat measures approx. 20-21-22-23 cm with the brim. |
