Is there a pattern to work on a loom for this? Would love to make for my mom, just because. Thanks

Dear Mrs Haney, there is only a knitted pattern to these slippers. Should you need any help, you'll find some videos showing the different techniques used in that pattern. Happy knitting!

Hi, when you say "K 3-4-4 sts, turn piece, tighten the thread and K back...." you mean from the beginning of the work knit 3 or knit 3 before the end and start the short rows. I am a bit confused. Thank you in advance for your time.
11.10.2017 - 18:00DROPS Design answered:
Dear Christiana, at the very beginning of the work, just after casting on sts, work the short rows as explained: first on the right side of piece from RS then work 1 row over all sts and work the short rows over the left side of piece (seen from RS), ie starting from WS. Then K 1 row over all sts and continue with moss stitch. Happy knitting!

I've moved to dpns and have 27 stitches. Seed stitch doesn't work evenly on an odd number of stitches so I get to the end and have two same stitches in a row. Am I doing something wrong?
22.01.2016 - 02:37DROPS Design answered:
Dear Maria, see below how to work seed stitch in the round with an uneven number of sts. Happy knitting!

Bon tricot!

Hi, I am at the point where it says "Repeat dec on every 6th row a total of 4 times = 17-19-21 sts. AT THE SAME TIME when piece measures 11-13-15 cm on the middle, cast on 8-8-8 new sts at the end of next row from WS = 25-27-29 sts". I have decreased every 6 rows a total of 3 times, and done 2 more rows. My piece now measures 13cm on the middle (what I need) - so do I now cast on 8sts on WS, and if so, what do I do about the last few rows before the 4th decrease? Thanks, N
11.05.2014 - 12:04DROPS Design answered:
Dear Naomi, cast on the 8 new sts now (when your piece measures 13 cm), continue in the round in moss st, and make the 4th dec 6 rows after the 3rd dec as done before. Happy knitting!

BREI 1 TOER IN RIBBELSTEEK OVER ALLE STEKEN. Wie kan dit aanpassen in de Nederlanse vertaling van het patroon? Groet uit Lewedorp

Het patroon is aangepast, bedankt voor het doorgeven.

MOSS ST: 1st row: * K 1, P 1 *, repeat from *-*. 2nd row: P over K and K over P. Repeat 2nd row upwards. DECREASE TIP: Work in moss st until 1 st remains before st with marker. Work the next 3 sts K/P tog = 2 sts dec. Work in moss st over the remaining sts on needle as before. -------------------------------------------------------- SLIPPER: Cast on 25-27-29 sts on needles size 5 mm with Snow. Work as follows: K 3-4-4 sts, turn piece, tighten the thread and K back. K 7-8-8 sts, turn piece, tighten the thread and K back. K 11-12-13 sts, turn piece, tighten the thread and K back. K 1 row over all sts. Turn piece, K 11-12-13 sts, turn piece, tighten the thread and K back. K 7-8-8 sts, turn piece, tighten the thread and K back. Turn piece, K 3-4-4 sts, turn piece, tighten the thread and K back. K 1 row over all sts. Continue to work in MOSS ST with 2 sts in GARTER ST each side - see explanation above. Insert a marker in the middle st (= mid under foot). Continue in moss st and 2 sts in garter st each side. AT THE SAME TIME when piece measures 3-4-5 cm (measured on the middle), dec 2 sts mid under foot – READ DECREASE TIP! Repeat dec on every 6th row a total of 4 times = 17-19-21 sts. AT THE SAME TIME when piece measures 11-13-15 cm on the middle, cast on 8-8-8 new sts at the end of next row from WS = 25-27-29 sts. Slip all sts on to double pointed needles size 5 mm and continue with moss st in the round on double pointed needles. When piece measures 18-19-21 cm at the shortest (= approx. 4-5-6 cm remain until finished measurements), work 0-2-4 rounds in GARTER ST over all sts - see explanation above! Then continue in garter st while AT THE SAME TIME dec 3 sts evenly on 1st K round. Repeat the dec on every K round a total of 4 times = 13-15-17 sts. On next round K all sts tog 2 by 2, finish with K1 = 7-8-9 sts remain on needle. Slipper measures approx. 22-24-27 cm. Cut the thread and pull it through the remaining sts and tighten tog. Fasten tightly. ASSEMBLY: Fold the slipper double and sew tog mid back in front loop of st (to avoid a chunky seam). |
