Hello, In your Highland Dew Leg Warmers pattern, would you kindly explain the meaning of the written instructions, “When piece measures 41cm inc 1 st in each P-section and continue in rib”. In particular what and where is P-section. Thank you for any assistance. Much appreciated, Arlene Gagnon

Hi Arlene, P-sections reffers to the rib pattern, when you alternate K and P sts. So, when piece measures 41 cm inc 1 st in each P-section (= P2 in rib) and continue in rib, K2/P3. Happy knitting!

I would recommend putting the finished size on this leg gaiter pattern (leg circumference at top and length to ankle) with the correct gauge. I went down 2 needle sizes with the correct gauge and they were still too huge for me to wear. Unless these sizes are listed somewhere else. I couldn’t find them.

20.12.2022 - 14:33DROPS Design answered:
Toista piirroksen mallikertaa koko kerroksen ajan. Eli neulo ensimmäisen puikon silmukoilla 1 mallikerta (= 12 silmukkaa), aloita sitten seuraava mallikerta ja neulo ensimmäisen puikon viimeisillä 3 silmukalla mallikerran ensimmäiset 3 silmukkaa. Neulo sitten toisen puikon ensimmäisillä 9 silmukalla mallikerran viimeiset 9 silmukkaa jne. Kerrokselle tulee yhteensä 5 mallikertaa.

I am knitting the first of 2 leg warmers, using the Highland Dew pattern. I am finding the leg warmer to be much too long for me (I am 5’1” inches tall); can you please provide instructions for adjusting the pattern for a finished length of only 15” instead of 17 1/4”? Thank you Frances Delwiche
24.02.2022 - 18:04DROPS Design answered:
Dear Frances, in your case, we would recommend shortening the ribbed sections. The upper rib is 8 cm/ 3 ⁵/₃₂, so you could shorten it to 5 cm / 1 ³¹/₃₂(remove 3 cm/ 1 ³/₁₆). The lower rib is 6 cm/ 2 ²³/₆₄; you could shorten it to 3 cm/ 1 ³/₁₆ (remove 3 more cm / 1 ³/₁₆). This way, you could adjust it to your length without modifying the nordic pattern or the increases. Happy knitting!

Bon tricot!
