Hej!

Mvh DROPS Design

Wondering why you decrease 12 stitches after you do the ribbing,on most patterns you wold do ribbing on smaller number of stitches then increase for pattern
18.04.2020 - 00:58DROPS Design answered:
Dear B Koch, decreases are done so the ribbing would not pull together the hat to much, which would cause a slouchy effect, also in order to have the pattern fit on the round. Happy Knitting!

Dear Mrs Allsopp, you will knit all stitches together 2 by 2 working them into back loop of stitches - as in the video below. Happy knitting!

Hi,\r\nThank you for such a nice pattern. I just wanted to ask you about the first instruction when you say \"...., change to double pointed needles when necessary.\"\r\nI just wanted to ask where in the pattern might it be necessary to change to double pointed needles. I\'m only starting off knitting and am looking for a little guidance please. Many thanks. 💕
03.10.2019 - 21:27DROPS Design answered:
Dear Edna, when you will start to decrease for the top of the hat, you won't have enough stitches to fit the circular needle, so that you just work in the round as before with the double pointed needles instead of with the circular needle. Happy knitting!

Hej!

Could you advise on making the hat smaller? Less repeats? 6 instead of 7?

Perhaps I cannot find it, but there is no where to download the pfd for your products. I use your patterns and have never had trouble before. I tried to use print, which in some cases gives you the option to also create a pfd, but it does not work. It prints only. Please advise.
22.12.2017 - 21:08DROPS Design answered:
Dear Elizabeth, please look for the print pattern button, and then Right next to teh Alpaca Party ad, there should be a "Continue to print the pattern →" button (at the upper right side), which should take you to the print window, where the save to PDF button is available. It works in my computer, if it does not appear on oyurs, sou might need to check your settings. Happy Crafting!

Men’s knitted hat with multi-coloured Nordic pattern. The piece is worked in DROPS Air.

INFORMATION FOR THE PATTERN: PATTERN: See diagram A.1. The whole pattern is worked in stocking stitch. DECREASE TIP: Slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit 1, pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch. ---------------------------------------------------------- HAT: The piece is worked in the round with circular needle, change to double pointed needles when necessary. Cast on 96 stitches with circular needle size 4 mm and black. Work rib in the round (= knit 2 / purl 2) for 4 cm. Knit 1 round where you decrease 12 stitches evenly on round (knit every 7th and 8th stitch together) = 84 stitches. Change to circular needle size 4.5 mm and work A.1 in the round (= 7 repeats of 12 stitches). REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When A.1 has been completed the piece measures approx. 17 cm. Continue with stocking stitch and black. When the piece measures 19 cm insert 6 marker threads in the piece with 14 stitches between each. Continue with stocking stitch and decrease 1 stitch after each marker thread – read DECREASE TIP (= 6 stitches decreased). Decrease in this way every 2nd round a total of 3 times, then every round a total of 3 times = 48 stitches left on needle. * On the next round, knit all stitches twisted together, 2 and 2, knit 1 round without decreases *, work from *-* one more time = 12 stitches. Cut the strand, pull it through the remaining stitches, tighten and fasten well. The hat measures approx. 24 cm from top down. |
