Buon lavoro!

If I wanted to make the blanket narrower or wider, how would I figure out the number of chains to start with? In other words, how long is the stitch pattern repeat? You often see this written in patterns as “Start with a multiple of ___ stitches, plus __ stitch(es).” More experienced crocheters can just look at a stitch chart and figure this out, but I’m still learning that particular skill. 🤓 Thanks for any help you can provide!

Dear Jenny, work 12 chains less/more for every A.2 less/more in width. Hope this helps, happy crocheting!

Can you not have a printed version of this Atlantic Wave type pattern. I loathe using the diagrams but prefer to to use written crochet instructions not a diagram. I have crocheted for years and it is just my preference and quite a few others I know prefer the old fashioned type written pattern.

Crochet DROPS blanket with wave pattern in ”Big Delight”.
DROPS 162-20 |
|||||||||||||
PATTERN: See diagrams A.1-A.3 and A.z. YARN TIP: When changing ball, it is important to continue the colour row, so adjust yarn to avoid 2 similar rows after each other. ---------------------------------------------------------- BLANKET: Work 206 ch (incl 1 ch to turn with) on hook size 6 mm with Big Delight. Work A.1 over the first 7 ch, then A.2 16 times in total, finish with A.3 over the last 6 ch. NOTE: 1st row is from RS. Work every row from RS in back loop of st and work every row from WS in front loop of st. REMEMBER THE CROCHET TENSION! Continue pattern upwards – READ YARN TIP. When A.1 has been worked 1 time vertically, repeat A.z until piece measures approx. 85 cm - adjust to finish blanket after a whole repetition of A.z vertically. Fasten off. |
