What is the yardage needed for this pattern?
17.07.2018 - 01:46DROPS Design answered:
Dear Jean, you will need about 400 gramms (which is 8 skeins) of Merino Extra fine yarn to knit this pattern. One skein is about 105 meters long, so alltogether about 800 -850 meters. Happy Knitting!

Bon tricot!

Bonjour comment obtenir 322 m en augmentant 2 m tous les rangs envers 47 fois avec au départ 40 m 47 fois 2 = 94 + 40 = 134 il me manque 188 points !!! merci de me répondre
04.04.2016 - 15:21DROPS Design answered:
Bonjour Mme Durand, on augmente 6 m sur 2 rangs, comme aux 2 premiers rangs, on répète ces augmentations encore 47 fois soit 47 x 6 = 282 m + 40 m = 322 m. Bon tricot!

I have a question about your diagram. Your diagram looks like there are 15 stitches for diagram A1, 17 stitches for A2, 19 stitches for A3, 21 stitches for A4 and A5. Does that mean we have to increase 2 stitches for each diagram as it progresses? In other words, there should be 332 stitches before one works on diagram A1, how many stitches will there be when one finishes diagram A5? Thank you.
22.11.2015 - 22:05DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Pfeffer, the increases are included in the diagram and in the repetitions, ie in last row in A.1 you work 4 dec but 6 yos = 2 sts inc in each repetition - in last row in A.2 you work 4 dec but 6 yos = 2 sts inc in each repetition. In A.5, you have 6 dec and 6 yos, number of sts is the same. Happy knitting!

GARTER ST (back and forth on needle): K all rows. 1 ridge = 2 rows K. PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 to A.5. (1st row = WS.) The diagrams show all rows in pattern seen from RS. INC: Inc 4 sts from RS with YO as follows: Inc 1 st inside 1 edge st in each side, inc 1 st before 1st marker and inc 1 st after 2nd marker. NOTE! Do not work YOs twisted on next row, make holes. Inc 2 sts on every row from WS with YO as follows: Inc 1 st inside 1 edge st in each side. NOTE! Do not work YOs twisted on next row, make holes. ---------------------------------------------------------- SHAWL: Cast on 34 sts on circular needle size 5 mm with Merino Extra Fine. Insert 2 markers in the piece, first marker after 2 sts, second marker when 2 sts remain on row. (1st row = RS) Then work in stocking st with 1 edge st in garter st in each side like this while at the same time INC - SEE EXPLANATION ABOVE. After the first 2 rows 6 sts have been inc and there are 40 sts in total on row. Continue to inc the same way 47 more times = 322 sts on needle (there should be 48 holes along each of the 2 markers). Piece measures approx. 37 cm measured along markers mid back. Stop inc here. K 1 row from RS while AT THE SAME TIME inc 5 sts evenly on each long side, do NOT inc over the middle 30 sts. There are now 332 sts on needle. Then work according to diagram A.1 with 1 edge st in garter st in each side (1st row = WS). Continue with diagram A.2, A.3 and A.4 (last row = RS). To get a nice, rounded edge work diagram A.5 (from WS) - AT THE SAME TIME cast off. Make sure to avoid a tight cast off so that edge is soft and elastic, and not curling. Cut the yarn and fasten. |
