I am not sure how to decrease from 39 st to 13 st in one round. What I am understanding is once we decrease from 78 st to 39 st, k two rows. Them knit 1, k2tog, k2tog, repeat across the round, then I should have 13 stitches left. I am not able to get there in one round. What am I doing wrong?
04.01.2017 - 04:07DROPS Design answered:
Hi. I think that a sentence is missing at the end of the pattern. Please try like this: K 2 rounds and in the first round K tog every 2nd and 3rd st across next round, in the second round K2 tog across the round = 13-15 sts. HAPPY KNITTING!

HAT: PATTERN: See diagram M.1 (= 3 sts). Diagram shows the pattern from RS. -------------------------------------------------------- HAT: Worked in the round. Cast on 117-129 sts on circular needle size 4 mm with Karisma. K 1 round and continue in rib K1/P2 on all sts until piece measures 4 cm. Now continue in PATTERN on all sts – see above! REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When piece measures 20-22 cm work 3 rounds rib K1/P2 and now dec all P2 to P1 = 78-86 sts. Change to double pointed needles when sts no longer fit circular needle. Work 2 rounds rib K1/P1. Now K2 tog across the round = 39-43 sts. K 2 rounds and then K3 tog across next round = 13-15 sts. Pull thread through all sts and tighten tog. Hat measures approx 24-26 cm. -------------------------------------------------------- NECK WARMER: GARTER ST (back and forth on needle): K all rows. GARTER ST (in the round): K 1 round, P 1 round. PATTERN: See diagram M.1. Diagram shows the pattern from RS. -------------------------------------------------------- NECK WARMER: Worked from top down. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! Cast on 120 sts on circular needle size 4 mm with Karisma. Work 4 rows GARTER ST – see above! Continue in M.1 on all sts. When piece measures 27 cm divide piece for front and back piece. Keep the first 60 sts on needle and slip the remaining 60 sts on a stitch holder. FRONT PIECE: Work back and forth on the 60 sts on needle in pattern as before. AT THE SAME TIME on row 1 cast on 1 new st at the end of row = 61 sts. Continue in M.1 as before with 2 GARTER STS - see above - each side. Continue until piece measures approx 12 cm from where it was divided. Now work 4 rows garter st on all sts and cast off loosely. Piece now measures approx 40 cm. BACK PIECE: Slip sts from stitch holder back on needle. Work like front piece. |
