I am unclear about the instructions on Back piece just after the paragraph that says “when piece measures 36 cm/. 14 1/4 “ work 2 rows w garter stitches ..... I completed that step but am confused about next step - Continue w 4 edge sets in each side as explained above. Was I to continue to decrease? Or just create ribbing on edges? I am now at 20 inches w 39 stitches on the needle and don’t know how how to proceed to neck and bind off. Please clarify and assist! Thank you :)

Dear LeeAnn, when you get the 39 sts, work now in stocking stitch with 4 sts in garter stitch on each side until piece measures 20". Then on next row, bind off the middle 13 sts for neck and finish each shoulder separately. On next row from neck towards shoulder decrease 1 st towards neck (as for armhole) a total of 2 times every other row. Bind off all sts when piece measures 21 1/4. Join yarn to sts from 2nd shoulder and work as for first shoulder. Happy knitting!

Denne opskrift findes kun i onesize, men hvis du overholder strikkefastheden så kan du lægge det antal masker til du behøver. Du får 1 cm ekstra for hver ekstra maske du slår op. God fornøjelse!

Tension: Needle size is only recommended! 10 sts x 14 rows with needle size 9 mm and stocking sts = 10 x 10 cm. Garter st: Knit all rows back and forth on needle. Decreasing tip (applies to armholes and neck): Dec within 3 garter stitched edge sts towards neck, or within 4 garter stitched edge sts towards armholes - NOTE: To make a nice edge; slip first st in beg on every row until finished measure, and knit the st in the end of every row. All dec are made from RS. Dec like this after the garter stiched sts: Slip next st as if to knit, K1, psso. Dec like this before the garter stiched sts: K2 tog. Back piece: Cast on 45 sts (incl 1 edge st each side) on needle size 8 mm with Snow and work 4 rows in garter sts. Change to needles size 9 mm and continue in stocking sts. Check your tension. When piece measures first 6 cm and then 12 cm dec 1 st each side = 41 sts. When piece measures 16 cm inc 1 st each side on every 7th cm a total of 3 times = 47 sts. When piece measures 36 cm work 2 rows with garter sts over the outermost 7 sts each side, then cast off the outermost 3 sts each side for armholes. On next row dec 1 st each side - see Dec. tip above = 39 sts. Continue with 4 edge sts in each side as explaned above. When piece measures 51 cm work 2 rows with garter sts over the center 19 sts, then cast off center 13 sts for neck. Ón next row dec additional 1 st towards neck - see Dec.tip. At the same time when piece measures 52 cm cast off 6 sts for sloped shoulder on every row 2 times. Now all sts are cast off and piece measures approx 54 cm. Right front piece: Cast on 21 sts on needle size 8 mm with Snow and work 4 rows in garter sts - NOTE: To make a nice edge; slip first st in beg on every row until finished measure, and knit the st in the end of every row.. Change to needles size 9 mm and continue with stocking sts but work the 3 outermost sts towards mid front in garter sts. When piece measures 6 cm dec in side as on back piece = 19 sts. When piece measures 16 cm inc in side as on back piece = 22 sts. When piece measures 36 cm work 2 rows with the outermost 7 sts towards side in garter sts, and then dec for armhole in side as on back piece = 18 sts. When piece measures 45 cm work 2 rows with the outermost 7 sts towards mid front in garter sts, then cast off the outermost 4 sts for neck. Continue dec 1 st towards neck on every other row 2 times - read Dec.tip. At the same time when piece measures 52 cm cast off for sloped shoulder as on back piece. Now all sts is cast off and piece measures 54 cm. Left front piece: Knit as right piece, but reversed. Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Sew side seams within 1 edge st. Sew in zipper. |
