Claire

Gauge: 13 sts x 17 rows on larger needles in stockinette st = 10 x 10 cm. Knitting tips (for neck): All decs are made on right side rows. Dec inside 4 edge sts in garter st as follows: After 4 edge sts: Slip 1 st as if to knit, K 1, psso. Before 4 edge sts: K 2 tog. Measuring-tips: Due to the stretchiness of the yarn, make all measurements when the piece is held up. Otherwise the garment will be too long when worn. Back: Cast on 52-58-62-68-76 sts on smaller needles and knit 4 rows garter st, then change to larger needles and stockinette st. When the piece measures 15-15-15-10-10 cm inc 1 st at each side every 9 cm a total of 2-2-2-3-3 times = 56-62-66-74-82 sts. When the piece measures 33-34-35-36-37 cm bind off for armhole at each side every other row: 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 0-1-1-3-4 times and 1 st 2-2-3-2-3 times = 46-48-50-52-54 sts. When the piece measures 49-51-53-55-57 cm knit 4 rows with garter st over the center 24-24-24-26-26 sts (knit the remaining sts the same as before). Then bind off the center 16-16-16-18-18 sts for the neck = 15-16-17-17-18 sts remain on each shoulder. Continue, keeping 4 sts in garter st at each neck edge, and bind off when the piece measures 52-54-56-58-60 cm. Left front: Cast on 30-33-35-38-42 sts on smaller needles and knit 4 rows garter st, then change to larger needles and stockinette st, keeping 4 edge sts at center front edge in garter st to finished measurements. Inc at the side as on back = 32-35-37-41-45 sts. Read the entire section before knitting: Neck: When the piece measures 32-33-34-35-36 cm dec 1 st for the neck every other row 12-12-12-13-13 times – see knitting tips above. Armhole: When the piece measures 33-34-35-36-37 cm bind off for armhole at the side as on back. After all armhole and neck shaping is complete 15-16-17-17-18 sts remain on shoulder. Bind off when the piece measures 52-54-56-58-60 cm. Right front: Cast on and knit the same as the left, reversing all shaping and make buttonholes along buttonband. 1 buttonhole = K tog the 2nd and 3rd sts from center front edge and yo. Make buttonholes when the piece measures: Size S: 6, 14, 22 and 30 cm. Size M: 6, 14, 23 and 31 cm. Size L: 4, 11, 18, 25 and 32 cm. Size XL: 4, 12, 19, 26 and 33 cm. Size XXL: 4, 12, 19, 27 and 34 cm. Sleeve: Cast on 33-34-35-36-37 sts on smaller needles and knit 2 rows garter st, then change to larger needles and reverse stockinette st. When the piece measures 12 cm knit 2 rows garter st then change to stockinette st. When the piece measures 14 cm inc 1 st at each side every 6-5-4-3.5-2.5 cm a total of 6-7-8-9-11 times = 45-48-51-54-59 sts. When sleeve measures 47-47-46-45-43 cm bind off for sleeve cap at each side every other row: 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 2 times and 1 st 3-3-3-4-6 times, then bind off 2 sts at each side until the piece measures 55 cm, then bind off 3 sts 1 time at each side. The piece measures approx. 56 cm. Bind off the remaining sts. Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Sew in sleeves. Sew sleeve and side seams using edge sts as a seam allowance. Sew on buttons. |
