Hi, my whole knowledge of knitting is cast on - knit, purl - cast off, so my question is embarrassingly basic. When the pattern says "Knit from the right side, purl from the wrong side", then "Purl from the right side, knit from the wrong side", does that mean I do four times normal knit purl, then I flip the blanket, repeat, flip again, or something else?

Dear Alex, this lesson might help you understanding how to read diagram, now here you will repeat A.1, so from RS (K4, P4) until 8 sts remain, then work A.2 (K4) and finish with 4 sts garter stitch. Then from WS, read diagrams from the left towards the right: K4 (garter stitch), then A.2 (P4), then repeat A.1 (K4, P4) and end with K4 (garter stitch). Work these 2 rows one more time (4 rows), then on next row K over P and P over K to dislpace the squares, keeping the 4 sts garter stitch on each side. Happy knitting!

Hur vet man hur många maskor man ska lägga upp i början?
02.10.2023 - 09:12DROPS Design answered:
Hej Sanna. Mvh DROPS Design

Hi, It says to use 4.5mm needles. In the uk is it the same as actual 4.5mm needles or is a #7 /7mm needles needed according to the conversion chart? I used 4.5mm and when doing the tension my swatch measured 11cm x 7cm so cast on was too much and 20 rows was too little so wondering if going up needle size would work?
23.07.2023 - 13:47DROPS Design answered:
Dear Rumon, the needle size for this pattern is 4.5mm. Which is UK #7 or US7. That means that the needles should have a 4.5mm diameter on the needle. The difference in stitches is not too big so 7mm needles would be far too much for this pattern. Since you will be working up to a specific amount of cm, the number of rows is not that important; as long as you adjust the number of stitches it should be fine. Try with a smaller needle, for example 4mm needles, so that you will have more stitches in less cm. Happy knitting!
