This slipper was not large enough to cover my foot. Instead of 1 1/8 inches, seems that it needed to be closer to 3 inches. I may try again & just fit it to my foot as I go instead of following the pattern.

Dear Mrs Reilly, please take care to have correct gauge : 28 sc x 35 rows vertically = 4x4 inches. Happy crocheting !

CROCHET INFO: Replace first dc from beg of row with 1 ch. Finish every row with 1 sl st in ch from beg of previous row. PATTERN: See explanation below or diagram M.1. ROW 1: 1 ch (= 1 dc), 1 dc in next st, * 4 ch, 1 sl st in 1st ch (1 picot), 1 dc in each of the next 3 sts *, repeat from *-* until 1 st remains and finish with 1 dc last st, turn piece. ROW 2: 6 ch (= 1 dtr + 2 ch), skip 1 dc + 1 picot + 1 dc, work 1 dtr in next dc, * 2 ch, skip 1 dc + 1 picot + 1 dc, work 1 dtr in next dc *, repeat from *-* the rest of the row, turn piece. ROW 3: 1 ch (= 1 dc), * work 1 dc + 1 picot + 1 dc in ch-loop, 1 dc in next dtr *, repeat from *-* the rest of the row, turn piece. ROW 4: 6 ch (= 1 dtr + 2 ch), skip 1 dc + 1 picot + 1 dc, work 1 dtr in next dc, * 2 ch, skip 1 dc + 1 picot + 1 dc, work 1 dtr in next dc *, repeat from *-* the rest of the row, turn piece. ROW 5: 1 ch, then work 2 dc in every ch-loop and 1 dc in every dtr the rest of the row. CROCHET 2 DC TOG: Crochet 2 dc tog into 1 dc as follows: Insert hook in first st, pull thread through, insert hook in next st, pull thread through, make 1 YO and pull thread through all 3 sts on hook. -------------------------------------------------------- SLIPPER: Worked back and forth, top down. Work 81-89-97 ch on hook size 2.5 mm with Alpaca. Work first row as follows: 1 dc in 2nd ch from hook, skip 1 ch, 1 dc in each of the next 2 ch, * skip 1 ch, 1 dc in each of the next 3 ch *, repeat from *-* the rest of the row = 61-67-73 dc on the row, turn piece. Then work M.1 - SEE EXPLANATION ABOVE. After M.1 there are 61-67-73 dc on the row. Now work as follows: ROW 1: Work 2 dc in first st and last st and 1 st in the remaining sts at the same time work the middle 3 sts as follows: 2 dc in first st, 1 ch and skip next st, 2 dc in next st, (= 3 new dc on row), turn piece. ROW 2: Work 1 dc in every st and in ch in the middle work 9 tr (= leaf), (= 9 new sts on row), turn piece. Repeat row 1-2 until there are 133-151-169 sts on the row = 6-7-8 leaves mid front – piece measures approx. 4-4.5-5 cm from M.1 and straight down. Now measure piece from here. Continue back and forth with 1 dc in every st. When piece measures approx. 3-3-3 cm, dec 1 st at the beg and at the end of row by working the first 2 dc and the last 2 dc tog into 1 dc – SEE EXPLANATION ABOVE. Repeat dec on every other row a total of 3 times. Slipper measures approx. 9-9.5-10.5 cm from M.1 and straight down. Cut and fasten the thread. ASSEMBLY: Start under the foot at the front of toe. Sew tog edge to edge in front loop of outermost st to avoid a chunky seam. Sew tog mid under foot, up along the heel mid back and to the top of the slipper. Cut and fasten the thread. |
