If the pattern is wrong and should refer to Alpaca for the rib (rather than Vivaldi), if I am substituting Kid Silk for the Alpaca, am I knitting in 2 threads or 4 please?
08.02.2026 - 15:12DROPS Design answered:
Dear Sandra, the cuffs and neck rib are started in two threads of Vivaldi, but you then follow with: "Change to 1 thread of each quality (2 threads) and work in rib", which includes 1 thread of DROPS Alpaca and 1 thread of DROPS Vivaldi. Happy knitting!

I am substituting Vivaldi with Alpaca Silk and Alpaca with Kid Silk. However the instructions do not mention the Alpaca at all - only Vivaldi. Am I right on thinking that the shoulder warmer is knitted in a single thread Vivaldi (Alpaca Silk in my case) and cuffs and rib which say "2 threads Vivaldi" should say 1 thread Alpaca (in my case 1 thread Kid Silk? It's so confusing that the yarn quantities stated say 50g Alpaca but the instructions only mention using Vivaldi...

Buon lavoro!

Hi! On the cuffs instructions, where do I pick up the 96 sts (L-XL)? What if there are more or less than 96 sts? Also, how do I pick it up? Where am I supposed to insert the needle? Do you have a video tutorial by any chance? Thank you!
18.08.2025 - 19:25DROPS Design answered:
Hi Twinkle, fold piece and sew tog along the broken lines shown on the measure chart. You will get holes for the arms and you have to cast on 96 stitches around these holes. If you are more or less stitches, adjust it in the next round. How to pick up stitches you can see HERE. Happy knitting!

Hei Anette.

Change to 1 thread of each quality (2 threads) and work in rib: * K2, P2 * repeat *-*. When rib measures 8 cm cast off with K over K and P over P. Repeat around bottom edge on the other sleeve. Rib edge: Knit in the round on needle. Pick up 270-282-294 sts on circular needle size 5 mm with 2 threads Vivaldi around opening of the shoulder warmer. P1 round at the same time dec 26 sts evenly distributed = 244-256-268 sts. Change to 1 thread of each quality (= 2 threads). Work in rib * K2, P2 * repeat *-*.
