Would love to do this in one color, but not sure how the yarn combinations look, 2 strands of the Alpaca with 1 of Kid-Silk or 2 of Kid-Silk and one Alpaca, I don't have a store near me to actually look at the yarn and combos. and if someone has done this in one color, how much yarn did you use? I need a large I think. thanks

Bon tricot!

Very pretty, wonderful neckline, I don't like the stripes, it will be much better in one colour. I will try to knit it in Symphony.

Moc krásné, nádherná linie výstřihu, jen se mi nelíbí ty pruhy, jednobarevný by byl lepší. Možná ho zkusím uplést ze Symphony.

GARTER ST (back and forth on needle): K all rows. COLOUR CHANGE: STRIPE 1 (worked for 17 cm): 1 thread Alpaca, 2 threads light pink Kid-Silk. STRIPE 2 (worked for 17 cm): 2 threads Alpaca, 1 thread light pink Kid-Silk. STRIPE 3 (worked for 17 cm): 2 threads Alpaca, 1 thread light beige Kid-Silk. STRIPE 4 (worked until finished measurements): 1 thread Alpaca, 2 threads light beige Kid-Silk. INCREASE TIP (applies to front piece): Inc inside the 2 markers mid front on front piece as follows: 1 YO AFTER marker 1 and 1 YO BEFORE marker 2 (i.e. no of sts between yo's inc with 2 sts for every inc). Work YOs in stocking st on next row to make holes. -------------------------------------------------------- BACK PIECE: Worked back and forth on circular needle. Cast on 70-76-82-88-96-104 sts (incl 1 edge st in each side) on circular needle size 6 mm with 1 thread Alpaca and 2 threads light pink Kid-Silk - Read COLOUR CHANGE - see explanation above - on how to continue to change yarn and colour in stripes. Work 6 rows in GARTER ST – see explanation above, then continue in stocking st. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When piece measures 10 cm, dec 1 st in each side. Repeat dec every 3 cm a total of 6 times = 58-64-70-76-84-92 sts. When piece measures 28-29-30-31-32-33 cm, dec 6-6-6-6-4-4 sts evenly = 52-58-64-70-80-88 sts. When piece measures 31-32-33-34-35-36 cm, inc 1 st in each side. Repeat inc on every 4th row a total of 6 times, then on every other row a total of 5-5-5-5-4-4 times = 74-80-86-92-100-108 sts. When piece measures 49-50-51-52-53-54 cm, insert a marker in each side to mark where armhole starts. READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING SECTION BEFORE CONTINUING! When armhole measures 16-17-18-19-20-21 cm (measured from marker and up), slip sts on a stitch holder for diagonal shoulder at the beg of row in each side as follows: 8-9-9-10-10-11 sts 3 times (NOTE! Work sts before slipping them on stitch holder). AT THE SAME TIME when piece measures 65-67-69-71-73-75 cm (measured from mid of piece and down to bottom edge), work the middle 16-16-18-18-20-20 sts in garter st, work the remaining sts in stocking st as before. When 6 rows in garter st have been worked over the middle 16-16-18-18-20-20 sts, cast off the middle 12-12-14-14-16-16 sts for neck and finish each shoulder (= 31-34-36-39-42-46 sts incl sts on stitch holders) separately in stocking st with 2 sts in garter st towards the neck. AT THE SAME TIME when the diagonal shoulder has been finished, slip all sts from the stitch holder on one shoulder back on needle, work 6 rows in garter st and loosely cast off. Finish the other shoulder the same way. Now piece measures approx. 69-71-73-75-77-79 cm (measured from bottom edge and up to shoulder on the longer piece). FRONT PIECE: Worked back and forth on circular needle. Cast on and work as on back piece until piece measures 31-32-33-34-35-36 cm. Insert 2 markers in the piece, after 18-21-23-26-30-34 sts each side (= 16-16-18-18-20-20 sts between markers mid front). Now start inc in the sides as on back piece while AT THE SAME TIME inc 2 sts inside marker 1 and marker 2 - READ INCREASE TIP! Repeat inc between markers on every 3rd row a total of 11 times, then on every other row until finished measurements (= approx. a total of 28-29-30-31-31-32 inc rows). When piece measures 49-50-51-52-53-54 cm, insert a marker in each side to mark where armhole starts. When piece measures 16-17-18-19-20-21 cm (measured from marker and up), work diagonal shoulder in each side as on back piece. Slip all sts back on needle. After all inc are done there are approx. 130-138-146-154-162-172 sts on needle. Work 6 rows in garter st over all sts and loosely cast off. Now piece measures approx. 69-71-73-75-77-79 cm. SLEEVE: Worked back and forth on circular needle. Cast on 32-34-34-36-36-38 sts (incl 1 edge st in each side) on needle size 6 mm with 1 thread Alpaca and 2 threads light beige Kid-Silk (work with these colours until finished measurements). Work 6 rows in garter st. Then work in stocking st. When piece measures 8 cm, inc 1 st in each side. Repeat inc every 4½-4½-3½-3-2½-2½ cm a total of 9-9-11-11-13-13 times = 50-52-56-58-62-64 sts. Loosely cast off when piece measures 49-47-46-45-43-41 cm (NOTE! Shorter measurements in the larger sizes because of longer sleeve cap and broader shoulder width). Knit another sleeve. ASSEMBLY: Sew shoulders on back piece to cast off edge on front piece = 31-34-36-39-42-46 sts in from each side of front piece. Sew side seams inside 1 edge st up to marker. Sew sleeve seams inside 1 edge st and sew in the sleeves. |
