I am finding it difficult to understand the end of the pattern and the videos do not help. so if i knit the first 10 stitches turn my work and work the return row on these 10 stitches, then my knitting is uneven and then I must cast off the first 24 stitches it creates a mess the knitting does not flow nicely what am i doing wrong ?

Dear Sharon, you will work 2 ectra rows on the 10 sts on each side, to do that, start from RS and work the first 10 sts, turn and work these 10 sts back, then turn and cast off the first 24 sts, work the last 10 sts, turn, work these 10 sts back, turn and cast off. These 2 extra rows on each side are for the flap lying nicely down when folded. Happy knitting!

Hi, nach den Zunahmen sind es 12 Maschen. Das kann doch nicht der Fuß sein!? Wo ist mein Denkfehler? Gruß Gaby
04.11.2025 - 21:58DROPS Design answered:

Bon tricot!

I am having trouble with the very end of the pattern. Can you please walk me through "work next rows from RS as follows: K 9-10-11, turn piece, work return row. Now bind off the first 21-24-27 sts = 9-10-11 sts left on needle. K 2 rows on these sts and bind off." Are there any photos or videos of the construction that I could go off of?
17.11.2017 - 01:17DROPS Design answered:
Dear Kirsten, when piece measures 21-23-26 cm work short rows over the first 9-10-11 sts beginning from RS: work the first 9-10-11 sts, turn and work these 9-10-11 sts. On next row cast off the first 21-24-27 sts = 9-10-11 sts remain. Knit 2 rows on these sts and cast off on next row. Happy knitting!

Ojalá me puedan ayudar. Mi lana es gruesa y quiero unas pantuflas mullidas y esponjosas. Quedo a la espera de su respuesta. Desde ya muchas gracias. Saludos, Solange

Knitted DROPS slippers in moss st in ”Polaris”.
DROPS 117-31 |

|
MOSS ST: Row 1: * K1, P1 *, repeat from *-*. Row 2: K over P and P over K. Repeat row 2. NEW BALL TIP: When changing to a new ball, split the thread ends, moisten and twist them. INCREASING TIP: Inc from RS with 1 YO. On next row work YO into back of loop to avoid a hole. -------------------------------------------------------- SLIPPER: Worked back and forth on needle, beg by toes. Leave approx 30 cm thread when casting on, use this for sewing slipper tog afterwards. Cast on 8-10-12 sts on needle size 10 mm with Polaris. K 1 row from WS and continue with inc on next row as follows - see INCREASING TIP: K2, 1 YO, K4-6-8, 1 YO, K2 = 10-12-14 sts. K 1 row from WS. Inc on next row as follows: K4, 1 YO, K2-4-6, 1 YO, K4 = 12-14-16 sts. K 1 row from WS. Now continue in MOSS ST on all sts – see above! REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! See NEW BALL TIP! Continue until piece measures 9-11-13 cm. Now cast on 9-10-11 new sts at the end of the next 2 rows = 30-34-38 sts. Continue in moss st on all sts. When piece measures 21-23-26 cm work next rows from RS as follows: K 9-10-11, turn piece, work return row. Now cast off the first 21-24-27 sts = 9-10-11 sts left on needle. K 2 rows on these sts and cast off. ASSEMBLY: Pull thread from beg through the 8-10-12 sts from cast on row, tighten toes and sew slipper tog mid upper foot in outer loops of sts, but leave an opening of 6-6-7 cm from the top down. Sew tog mid back, edge to edge to avoid a chunky seam. |
