Salve, lavorando in tondo il diagramma si nota lo "scalino" ad ogni giro - Il video "How to knit stripes with no jog / Helix knit" fa vedere una lavorazione differente - Ho questo problema con tutti i pattern nordici che sto lavorando. Grazie mille

Buonasera Giulia, purtroppo anche con questi accorgimenti lo "scalino" nei motivi nordici rimane visibile. Buon lavoro!

It says that the colourwork pattern repeats every 12 stitches however, when moving onto A.1 I have 112 stitches as stated in the pattern however, that isn't divisible by 12. Looking down the pattern later 108 also isn't divisible by 8. Are these numbers correct?
17.01.2022 - 14:33DROPS Design answered:
Dear Katie, Diagrams are read bottom up: you first work A.1(= 8 sts) a total of 13-14 times in the round = 104-112 sts; then decrease on the row with the arrow to 96-108 sts, then repeat the 12 sts repeat in A.1 a total of 8-9 times. Happy knitting!

Clarified question. I cast on 90 then increased to 96 so I’m not following the pattern as written. Still a multiple of 8. Now on the chart when i get to the arrow should I decrease to 84 or stay with 96? Will this mess up the colorwork pattern?
23.08.2021 - 21:27DROPS Design answered:
Dear Sharon, these patterns are written and made available to support DROPS yarns, so please understand we cannot modify our patterns for each individual request, especially for different yarns. Having said that, you will have to know that the pattern above the arrow has a 12 stitch repeat, you will have to knit it on stitches multiple of 12. Also, changing the number of stitches migh mess with the decreases, which you will have to recalculate. Happy Stitching!

Oh no. New to colorwork. I’m doing A1 with 96 sts on the needles. After the arrow on the pattern should I stick with the 96 or should I decrease down to 84? Will it mess up the colorwork pattern in relation to below the arrow?
23.08.2021 - 15:56DROPS Design answered:
Dear Sharon, when working the row with the arow, you have to decrease 4 sts on this round = 96 sts remain, now repeat A.1 which is now 12 sts (= 8 repeats of 12 sts = 96 sts). Happy knitting!

Bon tricot!

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATION FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- PATTERN: See diagram A.1. KNITTING TIP: To avoid the garment losing elasticity when working pattern, it is important not to tighten the strands on back side of piece. Switch to a higher needle number when working pattern if the pattern is tight. ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- HAT - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: Work in the round on circular needle, switch to double pointed needles when decreasing at the top of hat. HAT: Cast on 112-120 stitches with base colour on circular needle size 3.5 mm. Work rib in the round (knit 2/purl 2) until piece measures 4 cm. Switch to circular needle size 4 mm and knit 1 round while AT THE SAME TIME decreasing 8-8 stitches evenly = 104-112 stitches. Work pattern according to diagram A.1 (= 13-14 repetitions in the round). Read KNITTING TIP in explanation above and REMEMBER KNITTING TENSION! When it has been worked up to arrow in diagram, decrease 8-4 stitches evenly on next round = 96-108 stitches. Continue diagram (= 8-9 repetitions on round). When diagram been worked vertically, work 1 round in stocking stitch with base colour while decreasing 6-0 stitches evenly = 90-108 stitches. Insert 9 markers in piece 10-12 stitches apart. On next round decrease 1 stitch after every marker by knitting 2 stitches together. Repeat decreases every other round 8-10 times in total = 18-18 stitches. On next round knit all stitches together 2 by 2 = 9-9 stitches. Cut the yarn, use a needle and pull yarn through stitches. Tighten tog and fasten the yarn tightly. The hat measures approx. 24-25 cm vertically. |
