It is offered to knit the hat as a rectangle without any decreasing. I suppose there will be not very beautiful hole on the top when all 98 sts will be tighten together.

Bon tricot!

I made quite same pattern in 2014. I planned it myself. Kid-Silk and the same color. A knitting needle no 4,5. 50 stichs. The shawl is very beautiful and only 50 g. I have used this pattern for socks, gloves, hats etc. during many years. Easy.

GARTER ST (back and forth): K all rows. 1 ridge = 2 rows K. PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 to A.2. The diagrams show all rows in pattern seen from RS. ---------------------------------------------------------- STOLE: Worked back and forth in 2 parts and sewn tog when finished. Cast on 111 sts on needle size 3.5 mm with Kid-Silk. Work 2 ridges in GARTER ST - see explanation above. Work 3 sts in garter st, A.1 (= 21 sts) 5 times in total and finish with 3 sts in garter st. When A.1 has been worked 1 time vertically, there are 91 sts on needle. Now work A.2 (= 17 sts) over A.1 with 3 sts in garter st in each side. Continue pattern like this. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION When piece measures 77 cm, adjust after a whole repetition vertically - work 2 ridges over all sts AT THE SAME TIME on 1st row dec 10 sts evenly = 81 sts. Cast off. Knit another part the same way. ASSEMBLY: Sew the 2 part neatly tog in cast-off edge, sew in outer loops of edge sts to get a flat seam. ---------------------------------------------------------- HAT: Worked back and forth on needle. Cast on 98-102-106 sts on needle size 3.5 mm with 2 strands Kid-Silk. Work 2 rows in stocking st. Then work in GARTER ST - see explanation above. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION When piece measures 25-27-29 cm, cut the yarn and pull it through all sts, tighten tog and fasten. Sew hat tog mid back, sew edge to edge in outer loops of edge sts to avoid a chunky seam. |
