Mvh DROPS Design

I love this simple pattern. As I do not want the wrist ribbing to be so long, do you recommend I just shorten by a few rows? I didn't want wrist warmers, but did really like the straightforward look of the gloves
18.11.2024 - 10:53DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Barton, sure you can adjust the length before the thumb gusset to our own wishes, you can take inspiration from another pattern or/and just try on before starting thumb gusset to adjust to your own measurements. Happy knitting!

Hello, Is the gauge listed for the 3.5mm or 3mm needles?
07.04.2024 - 04:24DROPS Design answered:
Dear Catherine, the gauge is listed for the stocking stitch. Since everyone knits with a different gauge, which needle is exactly that may change. In this pattern we use 3,5 mm needles for the stocking stitch, but you should do a gauge swatch and use the needles that gives you the given gauge. Happy Knitting!

Hej. Jag skulle behöva en instruktionsvideo på hur man stickar tummen. Finns det en sådan jag inte hittar? För mig räcker inte instruktionen i mönstret. Tacksam för hjälp!

Hej Corinne, ja du finder en video for tummen nederst i mønsteret :)

Bon tricot!

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- INCREASE TIP (for thumb-gusset): Work as far as the marker-stitch, make 1 yarn over, knit 1 (marker-stitch), 1 yarn over (2 stitches increased). On the next round knit the yarn overs twisted to avoid holes. Work the next increase as follows: Work until there is 1 stitch left before the marker-stitch, 1 yarn over, knit 3, 1 yarn over (2 stitches increased). Continue to increase like this every 6th round (always on the outside of the previous increases). ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- WRIST-WARMERS – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: The piece is worked in the round with double pointed needles. RIGHT WRIST-WARMER: Cast on 52-56 stitches with double pointed needles size 3 mm and DROPS Puna. Knit 1 round, then work rib in the round (knit 2, purl 2) for 3-4 cm. Knit 1 round and decrease 12 stitches evenly spaced = 40-44 stitches. Change to double pointed needles size 3.5 mm and work stocking stitch. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When the piece measures 12 cm insert 1 marker in the first stitch. On the next round increase for the thumb-gusset - read INCREASE TIP. Increase like this every 6th round a total of 4 times = 48-52 stitches. After the last increase the piece measures approx. 18 cm. Place the 9 thumb-gusset stitches on a thread and cast on 1 stitch behind the thumb = 40-44 stitches. Continue with stocking stitch in the round until the piece measures 20 cm (approx. 3-4 cm left). Change to double pointed needles size 3 mm and knit 1 round where you increase 4 stitches evenly spaced = 44-48 stitches. Work rib (knit 2, purl 2) for 3-4 cm. Cast off with knit over knit and purl over purl. The wrist-warmer measures approx. 23-24 cm. THUMB: Place the 9 stitches from the thread back on double pointed needles size 3 mm and knit up 7 stitches behind the thumb = 16 stitches. Knit 1 round (make sure the thumb is not tight). Work rib (knit 2, purl 2) for 3-3½ cm. Cast off with knit over knit and purl over purl. LEFT WRIST-WARMER: Work in the same way as the right, but reversed: i.e. when working the thumb-gusset insert the marker in the last stitch on the round and increase on either side of this marker. |
