How to measure your tension/gauge

It`s important to check your gauge:

Make sure that the measurements on your project will be according to the pattern. Always make a little swatch.

If it says in the pattern that the gauge should be 17 stitches and 22 row equals 4 x 4 inches (10x10cm) on needle 5mm/ US 8, cast on 20 stitches on needle 5mm/US8 and knit stockinette back and forth over 24 rows in height.

Place a ruler on top of your swatch and count the number of stitches pr 4 inch/10 cm vertically and horizontally. If you have more then 17 stitches, the stitches er to small. Try with a bigger needle. If you have less 17 stitches, the stitches are to big. Try with a smaller needle.

When you have figured out what needle to use you are ready to start. Remember it`s smart to check your gauge several times while you are knitting to.

Liebe Rita, Sie können mal schauen, ob Spannen damit hilft, sonnst sollen Sie je nach dem Modelle mehr oder weniger Reihen bzw Runden stricken; für einige Modellen sollen Sie auch die Höhe entsprechend anpassen (z.B. Rundpassen oder Raglan). Viel Spaß beim stricken!

Bonjour Mme Lamoureux, ce modèle se tricote sur aiguille circulaire, mais en allers et retours pour avoir suffisamment de place pour y loger toutes les mailles, ainsi, vous pouvez utiliser des aiguilles droites, vos mailles seront juste plus serrées, veillez à bien conserver la bonne tension. Welk patroon gaat het precies om? Wat algemene tips: Je zou kunnen kijken bij de afmetingen van maat S van een vergelijkbaar patroon en dan op basis van de stekenverhouding het patroon omrekenen. Houd wel rekening met meerderingen minderingen en het uitkomen telpatronen

Welk patroon ben je aan het breien. Als je het aanbevolen garen aan houdt, komt de stekenverhouding meestal wel overeen en kun je eventueel dikkere of dunnere naalden nemen om wel op de juiste stekenverhouding te komen.

Buonasera Maria Teresa, è corretto: se con 20 maglie ottiene 8 cm significa che in 10 cm ci saranno più maglie, è quindi deve usare i ferri più grandi per allargare il lavoro. Buon lavoro!

Witaj Olu, próbkę wykonujemy na tych drutach, którymi jest wykonana główna część ubrania (nie ściągacze, obszycia/brzegi), są to zwykle grubsze druty, chyba że w opisie jest zaznaczone inaczej. W tym konkretnym swetrze wykonasz próbkę na drutach nr 8. Pozdrawiamy!

Hola Marina, se aumentarán el mismo número de puntos por fila, pero cada cuántas filas y cuántas veces puede variar, según la diferencia en número de puntos montados y el largo del canesú. Tendrás que mirar cuántos puntos necesitarás tras terminar los aumentos y cuántas filas debes tener en ese punto y entonces ver cada cuántas filas y cuántas veces necesitarás aumentar.

Dat komt omdat er een golvende lijn aan de onderkant van de trui zit, waardoor je meer steken nodig hebt.
