How to knit the left side of the heel on a sock

In this DROPS video we show how to work heel for the sock in DROPS 160-21. We have already worked rib and garter st until the piece measures 21 cm/8 1/4" in smallest size. REMEMBER - you will also need to read the pattern to be able to follow. To see the pattern, go to: DROPS 160-21

Op 15.00 in het filmpje begint de hiel aan de rechterkant. Daar wordt begonnen aan de kant van de hulpdraad (net als aan de linkerkant). Bij deze sok komt dat niet uit, omdat ik dan de kleurwisseling aan de verkeerde kant krijg. Kan ik dan nu het best drie i.p.v. twee naalden met de ene kleur breien? Of maak ik een andere fout?

Hoi Esther, Wat je in dit geval zou kunnen doen is de betreffende steken weer overzetten op een andere naald, zodat je de andere kant weer op kan breien. Dan moet wel de steken averecht breien, zodat de ribbels in stand blijven.

In this DROPS video, we show you how to knit a sock with a square heel. The stitches on top of the foot are placed on a thread, while the stitches at the back are kept on the needles and the heel is worked as follows (the heel extends under the foot): 1) The heel is worked back and forth across the heel-stitches to achieve the correct height. For this type of heel, the length reaches midway under the heel. 2) Next, the heel is knitted together beneath the foot. 3) The sock is then continued in the round, with stitches picked up along both sides of the heel length, working towards the toe. 4) This heel creates a square shape, which is why this type of heel is known as a square heel.

In this DROPS video, we show you how to knit a sock with a gusset heel - arguably the most common method for working a heel. To begin, the stitches on top of the foot are placed on a thread, while the stitches at the back are kept on the needles and the heel is worked as follows: 1) The heel is first worked in height, back and forth across the heel-stitches. 2) Next, the bottom of the heel is worked to the required width and length by working short rows and decreasing stitches. 3) Once this step is completed, continue knitting in the round across all stitches, knitting up stitches on both sides of the heel (along the length). 4) The width and shape of the foot is worked by decreasing stitches on both sides, forming a small gusset heel – that is why this type of heel is known as a gusset heel.

In this DROPS video we show how to start a sock with a flounce, like the “Dainty Duo” socks in DROPS 229-19. We cast on with 2 strands, but continue with 1 strand. Then we knit 4 rounds and on the next round we knit all stitches together 2 by 2. Then we work a rib (knit 1 twisted/purl 1). How to work after charts to the socks in DROPS 229-20

In this DROPS video we show how we work after chart A.1 (flounces) and A.2 (lace pattern) to the “Kissing Kate” socks in DROPS 229-20.
