Raglan

Slip sleeves on the same needle as body piece where bind off for armholes. Insert a marker in all transitions between body piece and sleeves. Now dec for raglan.

In our video we are dec each side of 2 sts at each transition on every other row, i.e. every row from RS, this gives 4 sts in stockinette at each transition.
Start 3 sts before marker; K2 tog, K1, marker, K1, slip 1 st as if to K, K1, psso.

(For 2 stockinette sts in each transition: Start 2 sts before marker; K2 tog, marker, slip 1 st as if to K, K1, psso)

In this DROPS video we show how we increase to raglan and at the same time work short rows. Put 4 markers as explained in the in the pattern you are knitting after and cut the thread. Now you start working front left of neck when garment is worn. Start from the right side, 2 stitches before marker-stitch-3 and work after pattern (stockinette stitch / after charts) and increase to raglan before and after the 4 markers until you have worked to 2 stitches past marker-stitch-2 (8 stitches increased for raglan). Turn, tighten the strand and work back from the wrong side to 2 stitches past where the short rows began by marker-3. Continue with short rows as it says in the pattern and when the short rows are finish, cut the thread and now it starts mid-back again. Work the yarn overs / the increases as it says in the pattern, and remember that the yarn overs / increases are worked differently, before/after the marker and from the right side/from wrong side We use the yarn DROPS Snow in the video. You must read a pattern (and look at the chart) to be able to follow this video properly. You’ll find patterns by clicking on the picture below.

In this DROPS video, we show how to increase with yarn over from the right side, both before a mark and after a mark, and how to work the increases from the wrong side. To get the yarn over to face neatly towards each other from the wrong side, work like this before the marker: Work in the back loop of the yarn over (no hole). After the marker work like this: Slip the yarn over off the left needle, then replace it the other way round (insert the left needle from the back when replacing it). In this DROPS video we show how to work yarn over differently so that they are towards the right or towards the left, as it is done in the hat in DROPS 234-12. We show 1 round where we knit the yarn over and 2 rounds where we purl the yarn over. Work the yarn over like this: AFTER MARKER: Work yarn over in back loop of stitches, stitch is twisted towards the left. It should not make a hole! BEFORE MARKER: Slip yarn over off the needle and put it back the opposite way, and then work in front loop of stitch, stitches is twisted towards the right. It should not make a hole! Work the increased stitches in rib knit 2/purl 2 - i.e. the first 2 times knit the increased stitches, the next 2 times purl them. The hat in DROPS 234-12 is worked in DROPS Karisma, but in the video we work with a thicker yarn; DROPS Snow. You must read a pattern to be able to follow this video properly. In this DROPS video we show how to put 4 markers in a piece, how to increase to raglan at these markers while working short rows. We cut the thread and start the short rows at the 3rd mark, but when the short rows are finished, we cut the thread and start in the middle of the back again. We have already worked a double neckline and in the video, we show how we work a round where we put 4 markers and increase to raglan on each side of these markers. On next round we work the increases stitches twisted so that there are no holes. Then we work short rows, we also increase to raglan on every row and when the short rows are finished, we only increase to raglan on every other round. We use the yarn DROPS Nepal in the video. In this DROPS video we show how to increase 2 stitches by each raglan-line and how to work these increases stitches on the next round. You can use the same technique when making other items, for example hats or skirts. Work like this: Increase 2 stitches by each raglan-line as follows: Work to the raglan-line, make 1 yarn over, knit 1 (= raglan-line), 1 yarn over. Increase like this at each raglan-line (= 8 stitches increased). On the next round work the yarn overs as follows: BEFORE RAGLAN-LINE: Slip the yarn over onto the right needle as if to knit, place it back onto the left needle (it is now twisted) and knit in the front loop (yarn over twists to the right). AFTER RAGLAN-LINE: Knit in the back loop of the yarn over (yarn over twists to the left). We use the yarn DROPS Snow in the video.
