Measurements (from top of hat and down to beard): approx. 9 cm.
Materials:
DROPS COTTON LIGHT from Garnstudio
50 g colour no 21, light beige
50 g colour no 01, off white
50 g colour no 32, red
Some black left-over yarn for eyes.

REINDEER:
Measurements (diameter head): approx. 4½ cm.
Materials:
DROPS COTTON LIGHT from Garnstudio
50 g colour no 21, light beige
50 g colour no 22 brown
Some black left-over yarn for eyes.
Some left-over red for nose

DROPS CROCHET HOOK SIZE 3 mm – or size needed to get 22 dc x 22 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Pattern instructions

NOTE: This pattern is written in British English. All measurements in charts are in cm. For conversion from cm to inches - click here. COLOUR CHANGE: 
When changing colour work as follows: Work last st with first colour but wait with last pull through, switch to next colour and work last pull through, then work next st.

SANTA:
Piece is first worked in the round, then worked back and forth.

Beg with hook size 3 mm and off white, work 5 ch and form a ring with 1 sl st
ROUND 1: Work 2 ch, switch to light beige and chain 1, continue with 6 tr around ch-ring but place the off white strand over sts in ch-ring to work tr in light beige around ch-ring and the off white strand. Switch to off white - READ COLOUR CHANGE, cut the light beige strand and continue with off white as follows: Work 2 tr around ch-ring, 1 ch, 4 dtr around ch-ring, 1 ch, 2 tr around ch-ring. Finish round with 1 sl st in 3rd ch from beg of round. REMEMBER THE CROCHET TENSION! Cut the yarn. Work another part the same way without cutting the yarn.
Sew a couple of stitches for eyes on one side (= front) - sew with black yarn in the area with light beige (= face) - see photo. Then work the 2 parts tog. Place the parts tog WS against WS and continue with 2nd round in off white by working through both layers as follows:
ROUND 2: Work 1 ch, work 2 dc in next st, 1 dc in each of the next 4 sts, 2 dc in next st. Now work beard as follows: Work 1 dc in next st, * 3 ch, 1 sl st in 1st ch (of the 3 ch), 1 sl st in next st *, repeat from *-* 7 more times, work 3 ch, 1 sl st in 1st ch (of the 3 ch), 1 dc in next st, finish round with 1 sl st in 1st ch on round and work 1 sl st in next dc.
Switch to red. Then work piece back and forth:
ROW 1: Work 2 ch, 1 htr in same st as last sl st, 1 dc in each of the next 6 dc, 1 htr in next st, turn piece.
ROW 2: Work 2 ch, skip first dc, 1 dc in each of the next 5 sts, 1 htr in next st, turn piece.
ROW 3: Work 2 ch, skip 1 dc, 1 dc in each of the next 4 dc, 1 htr in next st, turn piece.
ROW 4: Work 2 ch, skip 1 dc, 1 dc in each of the next 3 dc, 1 htr in next st, turn piece.
ROW 5: Work 2 ch, skip 1 dc, work 1 dc in next st but wait with last pull through, work one dc in next st but on last pull through pull yarn through all sts on hook, 1 htr in next st, turn piece.
ROW 6: Work 2 ch, skip 1 dc, 1 dc in last st on row, turn piece.
ROW 7: Switch to off white. Work 3 ch, work 1 tr in next dc but wait with last pull through, work 1 tr more in same st but on last pull through pull yarn through all sts on hook, work 1 ch, tighten, cut the yarn but leave a yarn end of approx. 15 cm for strap. Fasten the yarn end and then make a strap that measures approx 5 cm.

REINDEER:
Worked in the round.
Beg with hook size 3 mm and light beige, work 4 ch and form a ring with 1 sl st
ROUND 1: Work 3 ch, 12 tr around ch-ring, finish with 1 sl st in 3rd ch at beg of round.
ROUND 2: Work 1 ch, * work 1 dc in each of the next 2 tr, 2 dc in next tr *, repeat from *-* 1 more time, work 1 htr in next tr, 2 tr in next tr, 2 dtr in next tr, 2 tr in next tr, 1 htr in next tr, 2 dc in next tr, finish round with 1 sl st in first ch. REMEMBER THE CROCHET TENSION! Cut the yarn and work another part the same way.
Sew a couple of stitches for eyes on one side (= front) - sew with black yarn - and a few stitches with red yarn for nose. Then work the 2 parts tog. Place the parts tog with WS inwards and continue with 3rd round by working through both layers as follows:
ROUND 3: Work 1 ch, 2 dc in next st, 1 dc in each of the next 4 dc, 2 dc in next st, work 3 ch, 1 tr in first ch (of the 3 ch), 1 sl st in same st (= ear), work * 1 dc in next st, 2 dc in next st *, repeat from *-* 5 more times, work 3 ch, 1 tr in first ch (of the 3 ch), 1 sl st in same st (= ear), finish round with 1 sl st in first ch at beg of round. Fasten off.
Now work antlers as follows:
Beg from RS with brown and in 2nd dc from last sl st worked on 3rd round. Work 5 ch and 1 dtr in same dc, turn piece and work 3 ch, 1 tr in dtr from previous row, 3 ch and 1 sl st in same dtr, work 2 ch, 1 htr in 5th ch at beg of previous row. Fasten off. Work another antler the same way but now beg from WS in 2nd dc from the other ear.
Strap:
Cut a yarn of approx. 20 cm. Fasten strand at the top of reindeer’s head so that strap is approx. 7 cm long. Fasten off.
