Garter st, back and forth on needle: K all rows

Decreasing tip (applies to armhole and neckline):
Make all dec from RS inside 6 garter sts for armhole and 8 garter sts for neckline.
Dec as follows after 6/8 garter sts: slip 1 st as if to knit, K1, psso
Dec as follows before 6/8 garter sts: K2 tog.

Increasing tip (applies to shoulder): Inc inside 6 garter sts from the RS by making 1 yo. On return row P yo into back of st in order not to create a hole. Work inc sts in stocking st.

Back piece: Cast on 74-82-88-98-108-118 sts on needle size 4.5 mm with Silke-Alpaca. Work 8 rows garter st – see above - and continue in stocking st with 4 garter sts each side. Remember the knitting tension! When piece measures 18 cm cast on 1 edge st each side = 76-84-90-100-110-120 sts. Now continue in stocking st on all sts. When piece measures 20 cm dec 1 st each side on every 5 cm a total of 3-3-3-4-4-4 times = 70-78-84-92-102-112 sts. When piece measures 40-41-42-43-44-45 cm inc 1 st each side on every 5-5-5-3-3-3 cm a total of 3-3-3-4-4-4 times = 76-84-90-100-110-120 sts. When piece measures 52-53-54-55-56-57 cm work 2 rows garter st on the outermost 9-9-11-11-13-13 sts each side and cast off 3-3-5-5-7-7 sts each side for armhole on next row. Continue in stocking st with 6 garter sts each side towards armhole, at the same time dec to shape the armhole – see Decreasing tip – on every other row: 1 st each side a total of 4-7-7-11-13-17 times = 62-64-66-68-70-72 sts. When piece measures 60-62-64-68-72-76 cm inc 1 st each side – see Increasing tip – on every 2-2-2-2-1-1 cm a total of 5 times. At the same time when piece measures 68-70-72-74-76-78 cm work 4 rows garter st on the middle 40-40-42-42-44-44 sts, work remaining sts as before. When piece measures 70-72-74-76-78-80 cm cast off the middle 22-22-24-24-26-26 sts for neck. Continue with 9 garter sts towards neckline and dec 1 st on neckline on next row = 24-25-25-26-26-27 sts left on each shoulder. Continue in stocking st with 8 garter sts towards neckline and 6 garter sts towards armhole and cast off when piece measures 72-74-76-78-80-82 cm.

Front piece: Cast on and work like back piece. At the same time when piece measures 38 cm work 12 rows garter st on the middle 16 sts, work remaining sts as before. Divide piece in the middle and complete each side separately, at the same time dec to shape the V-neck – see Decreasing tip – inside 8 garter sts: 1 st on every 2.5 cm a total of 12-12-13-13-14-14 times. After all inc and dec are complete = 24-25-25-26-26-27 sts left on shoulder. Cast off when piece measures 72-74-76-78-80-82 cm.

Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Sew side seams inside 1 edge st, but leave 18 cm at bottom for split.
String: Cut 9 threads measuring 6 meters each, twist until they resist, fold them double and let them twist again. Tie a knot each end, but leave approx 10 cm for tassel. Wear string round the waist.

Bon tricot!

Hi! Let me start by saying I love this pattern! However, there isn't a total yardage listed in the pattern notes. it would be helpful to know how much yard is needed per size.

DROPS Design 05.06.2015 kl. 15:44:

Dear Julie, click here for more informations about the yarn to calculate total length of yarn required for your size and here to find alternatives between yarn groups. Happy knitting!

Jette Zangger 04.05.2014 - 08:18:

Jeg er meget skuffet over garnet Lin. Det er efter vask blevet helt mat. Den blanke struktur er helt forsvundet

Jette Zangger 25.03.2014 - 08:12:

Sharon Vogt 19.02.2008 - 05:47:
