Begge kvaliteten tilhører garngruppe C. mvh DROPS Design

Why are the majority of your patterns you have which are all great but are now nearly all knitted in the round there are still a lot of traditional knitters out there who would like to knit these modern sweaters in the flat way Can you not publish both methods?J White

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- INCREASE TIP (evenly spaced): To work out how to increase evenly, count the total number of stitches on the needle (e.g. 52 stitches) and divide by the number of increases to be made (e.g. 6) = 8.7. In this example, increase by making 1 yarn over after approx. each 9th stitch. On the next round knit the yarn overs twisted to avoid holes. RAGLAN: Increase 1 stitch on each side of the 4 stitches with markers – in each transition between front/back piece and sleeves (= 8 stitches increased). Increase 1 stitch by making 1 yarn over. On the next round knit the yarn overs twisted to avoid holes. Then work the new stitches in stocking stitch. CASTING-OFF TIP: To avoid the cast-off edge being tight you can cast off with a larger size needle. If the edge is still tight, make 1 yarn over after approx. each 6th stitch at the same time as casting off; the yarn overs are cast off as normal stitches. ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- JUMPER – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: The neck and yoke are worked in the round with circular needle, from mid back and top down. The yoke is divided for body and sleeves and the body is continued in the round with circular needle. The sleeves are worked in the round with double pointed needles/short circular needle, top down. NECK: Cast on 52-54-58-60-62-64 stitches with short circular needle size 7 mm and 1 strand of each colour in DROPS Air (= 2 strands) or 1 strand Wish. Knit 1 round, then work rib in the round (knit 1, purl 1) for 4 cm. When the rib is finished, knit 1 round where you increase 6-8-8-10-16-18 stitches evenly spaced – read INCREASE TIP = 58-62-66-70-78-82 stitches. Change to circular needle size 8 mm. Insert 1 marker at the beginning of the round (= mid-back); the yoke is measured from this marker! YOKE: Insert 4 markers as described below without working the stitches, each marker is inserted in a stitch and are used when increasing to raglan; they should have a different colour to the marker on the neck. Count 11-12-12-13-14-15 stitches (= ½ back piece), insert 1 marker in the next stitch, count 6-6-8-8-10-10 stitches (= sleeve), insert 1 marker in the next stitch, count 21-23-23-25-27-29 stitches (= front piece), insert 1 marker in the next stitch, count 6-6-8-8-10-10 stitches (= sleeve) and insert 1 marker in the next stitch. There are 10-11-11-12-13-14 stitches left after the last marker (½ back piece). Work stocking stitch in the round. AT THE SAME TIME, on the first round increase to RAGLAN – read description above (= 8 stitches increased). Increase like this every 2nd round a total of 12-13-15-16-17-19 times. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! After the last increase there are 154-166-186-198-214-234 stitches on the needle. Continue with stocking stitch without further increases until the piece measures 19-21-22-24-25-27 cm from the marker on the neck. Now divide the piece for body and sleeves on the next round as follows: Work 25-27-29-31-34-38 stitches (= ½ back piece), place the next 28-30-36-38-40-42 stitches on 1 thread for the sleeve, cast on 6-6-6-8-8-8 new stitches on the needle (= in side under sleeve), work 49-53-57-61-67-75 stitches (= front piece), place the next 28-30-36-38-40-42 stitches on 1 thread for the sleeve, cast on 6-6-6-8-8-8 new stitches on the needle (= in side under sleeve) and work the last 24-26-28-30-33-37 stitches (= ½ back piece). Body and sleeves are finished separately. THE PIECE IS NOW MEASURED FROM HERE! BODY: = 110-118-126-138-150-166 stitches. Continue with stocking stitch in the round until the piece measures 28 cm from the division. There is approx. 4 cm left to finished length; you can try the jumper on and work to desired length. Change to circular needle size 7 mm. Work rib (knit 1, purl 1) for 4 cm. Cast off with knit over knit and purl over purl - read CASTING-OFF TIP! The jumper measures approx. 54-56-58-60-62-64 cm from the shoulder down. SLEEVE: Place the 28-30-36-38-40-42 stitches from the thread on the one side of the piece on double pointed needles/short circular needle size 8 mm and knit up 1 stitch in each of the 6-6-6-8-8-8 stitches cast on under the sleeve = 34-36-42-46-48-50 stitches. Work stocking stitch in the round until the sleeve measures 24-22-23-21-21-19 cm. Change to short circular needle/double pointed needles size 7 mm and work rib (knit 1, purl 1) for 4 cm. Cast off with knit over knit and purl over purl. The sleeve measures 28-26-27-25-25-23 cm from the division. Work the other sleeve in the same way. |
