Buon lavoro!

What am I measuring when you say - piece measures 4”? Is this across the diameter as surely not correct as will be way too small for XL size. I did a gauge and have correct stitch count.
30.06.2020 - 03:58DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Mc Robbie, make sure to read whole number - ie you work with dark grey until piece measures 6.30 inches (= 6 + 1/4) and then switch to medium gray with dc until piece measures 9,84 inches (=9 + 1/4) - whole hat measures 11.02 inches. Happy crocheting!

Hi this is my second attempt at making a hat and it’s going much better than before but each time I end with a slip stitch it leaves a big gap how do I make it so that the join is invisible?
13.05.2019 - 00:16DROPS Design answered:
Dear Emily, the video below shows how to crochet treble crochet in the round, joining with a slip stitch at the end of every round, make sure that this slip stitch is not too loose. Happy crocheting!

ROUND 9: Work 1 dc in every dc and inc 3 dc evenly = 99 dc. Piece measures 10 cm / 4''? Isn't that a baby size hat?
18.12.2018 - 03:47DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Ahmom, if your tension in width is correct, your 99 dc should measure approx 55 cm (circumference), ie somewhat tighter than the finished measurement head so that the head can fit nice. Happy crocheting!

What does it mean by DC in every DC and Inc 3 every for the l/XL size for row 9?
11.11.2018 - 23:38DROPS Design answered:
Dear Jessica, dc means double crochet. You need to increase 3 stitches evenly on the row. To work out how to increase evenly, count the total number of stitches on the needle and divide by the number of increases to be made =(let's say) 6 In this example, increase by making 1 yarn over after each 6th stitch (approx.). On the next round knit the yarn overs twisted to avoid holes.Happy Crafting!

Bon crochet!
