Please re check this pattern. There is no way that it's another 4" from side seam down through sides of foot to bottom.. it just ruined the slipper I was knitting now I have to take it all out and start a different one.. hope that pattern I choose is correct
16.10.2014 - 20:48DROPS Design answered:
Dear Judy, you start leg with ribbing for 4", then sew loose cuff 3/4" (= 0.75") down on foot. See also video below, time code 15:05. Happy knitting!

Hello again, from my last question about picking up the edge stitches... I understand how to pick them up but the problem Im encountering is that for some reason I'm not ending up with enough to pick up 14 even though I've knit to the correct length and I'm not sure what is going wrong.
16.10.2014 - 19:26DROPS Design answered:
Dear Maria, you may have a different tension in height, and can adjust number of sts to 14 inc evenly when picking up sts. Happy knitting!

This section of the pattern, At The Same Time k2 tog on each side of both markers on every other round (=4 st less per round) is that meant to be 4 Dec then a non decrease round. I ended up with a triangle in the bottom of the slipper.
14.10.2014 - 05:41DROPS Design answered:
Dear Carol, you are correct, you will dec 4 sts on a round, then work 1 round withouth dec, until the section in stocking st measures 3-4 cm (see size). When you fold the slipper double, toe and heel side will "lean" towards middle to shape the sole. Happy knitting!

I have just completed the bootie/slipper part of this pattern. This has been one of the most confusing patterns I've encountered. It's not the actual knitting that is difficult, just the way it's worded, and would really have liked voice description on the video...I am going to keep trying because I like the way these slippers look...wish me luck!

I am getting stuck here: work the 9-11-11 sts in rib as before, then inside 1 edge st pick up 12-14-16 sts along the side of the upper piece. When I go to pick up the stitches (I'm doing the size with 14), I can only get 11. Any idea what I am doing wrong? Do I need to make the upper foot piece longer? I have watched the video and I seem to be following the pattern correctly otherwise.
13.10.2014 - 23:02DROPS Design answered:
Dear Maria, when picking up sts along the upper piece, you should pick up 14 sts in the 2nd size - the video below may help you to get how to pick up the sts (from time code 1:32). Happy knitting!

Hi, I'm having a little trouble at this point: Continue with rib back and forth over the 9-11-11 sts - AT THE SAME TIME on 1st row cast on 1 new st in each side (edge st) = 11-13-13 sts. How do you cast on to both sides? Are you picking up a stitch or...? I have tried doing one end and then working the row and adding at the other, but then the ribbing gets messed up. Thank you!
13.10.2014 - 00:26DROPS Design answered:
Dear Laura, you can Kfb into first and last st or cast on 1 new st at the end of 2 first rows as in the video below. Happy knitting!

Work rib K 1/P 1 in the round until piece measures approx. 10 cm. FOOT: Now keep the first 9-11-11 sts on the round on the needle, slip the remaining 27-27-29 sts on a stitch holder. Continue with rib back and forth over the 9-11-11 sts - AT THE SAME TIME on 1st row cast on 1 new st in each side (edge st) = 11-13-13 sts. Insert 1 marker mid front of toe and 1 marker mid back on heel. Continue in the round with rib as before for 2 cm. Now finish the piece in stocking st - AT THE SAME TIME K 2 sts tog on each side of every marker on every other round (= 4 sts less per round) continue dec until stocking st section measures 3-3-4 cm – cast off. Continue with rib and in garter st in each side until piece measures approx. 36-37-38 cm. Cast off sts with K over K and P over P. Sew buttons on to cuff and button cuff tog.
