Hello. Is there a way to add length to the body of this vest? Thank you Marisa
15.05.2022 - 11:23DROPS Design answered:
Dear Marisa, the shape of this specific pattern makes it difficult to lengthen it. You would need to rewrite most of the pattern to lengthen it. Happy knitting!

15.04.2021 - 14:41DROPS Design answered:
Liebe Frau Pörschmann, für den Kragen schlagen Sie zuerst 4Maschen am Ende einer Rückreihe (linkes Vorderteil), dann schlagen Sie 1 Masche am Ende jeder Rückreihe 4 Mal = 27 + 19x2 + 4 + 4x 1= 73 M. Kann es Ihnen helfen?

Knitted DROPS vest in garter st in "Polaris". Size: S - XXXL
DROPS 132-15 |
|
GARTER ST (back and forth on needle): K all rows. TIP FOR SWITCHING THREADS: When switching ball with Polaris, split the old thread in two on the last 15 cm – cut off one part, do the same on the new thread. Place the first and last 15 cm on top of each other so that the yarn is the normal thickness and continue to work – this is done to make the thread switch invisible in the yarn. -------------------------------------------------------- LEFT FRONT PIECE: Worked back and forth on needle. Worked from the side towards mid front. READ TIP FOR SWITCHING THREADS! Cast on 17-19-21-23-25-27 sts on needle size 12 mm with Polaris. Insert a marker in the 15th-16th-17th-18th-19th-20th st (from RS). NOTE! All measurements are done in the knitting direction out from st before marker. Work in GARTER ST over all sts - see explanation above – 1st row = RS. AT THE SAME TIME on 2nd row (= WS), inc 1 st on each side of st with marker. Inc by making 1 YO, on next row K the YO to make holes. Repeat inc every other row a total of 14-15-16-17-18-19 times. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! At the same time when piece measures approx. 13-14-15-15-16-18 cm, cast on 4 new sts at the end of next row from WS (= collar). Continue inc at the marker as before while AT THE SAME TIME casting on 1 new st at the end of every row from WS (for collar) a total of 3-3-3-4-4-4 times. When all inc are done, there are 52-56-60-65-69-73 sts on needle and piece measures approx. 18-19-20-21-22-24 cm in knitting direction. Cast off on next row from RS. RIGHT FRONT PIECE: Work as left front piece but reversed. I.e. marker for inc on both sides is in 3rd-4th-5th-6th-7th-8th st from RS. Sts for collar must be cast on at the end of every row from RS. Cast off when same no of rows in garter st has been worked as on left front piece. BACK PIECE: Worked back and forth on needle. Cast on 34-36-40-44-48-52 sts on needle size 12 mm with Polaris. Work in garter st until piece measures 18-19-20-21-23-24 cm (work same no of rows in garter st from cast on to cast off edge as in the side on front piece). On next row cast off the first and last 3-3-4-5-6-7 sts in each side for armholes (cut the thread) = 28-30-32-34-36-38 sts remain on needle. Continue in garter st (with a new thread) until piece measures 36-38-40-42-45-47 cm. Cast off all sts (the middle 8-8-8-10-10-10 sts = neck). ASSEMBLY: Sew all seams edge to edge to avoid a chunky seam. Sew shoulder seams – make sure that 1 ridge (2 rows in garter st) from front piece is sewn against 1 st from back piece. Sew the collar tog mid back and sew it to back piece. Sew side seams. |
