Hej.

NEW BALL OF YARN TIP: When changing to a new ball of Polaris separate the old and the new thread into strands. Place the strands over one another, moisten them and twist them tog. MEASUREMENT TIP: Because of the weight of the yarn make all measurements while the garment is hanging otherwise it will be too long when worn. GARTER ST (back and forth on needle): K all rows. DECREASING TIP-1 (applies to body piece): Make all dec from RS. Dec as follows 2 sts before marker: slip 1 st as if to K, K1, psso. Dec as follows after marker: K2 tog. INCREASING TIP: Inc 1 st by making 1 YO. To avoid hole work YO into back of loop on next row. DECREASING TIP-2 (applies to armhole): Make all dec from RS. Dec as follows after 2 garter sts: slip 1 st as if to K, K1, psso. Dec as follows 2 sts before 2 garter sts: K2 tog. -------------------------------------------------------- BODY PIECE: Worked back and forth on circular needle from mid front. See NEW BALL OF YARN TIP! Cast on 82-89-97-102-110-121 sts (includes 2 front band sts each side towards front edge) on circular needle size 12 mm with Polaris. Work 4 rows GARTER ST - see above – and continue in stocking st with 2 garter sts each side towards mid front (= front bands). Insert 2 markers in piece, 22-24-26-27-29-32 sts in from each side = 38-41-45-48-52-57 sts between markers on back piece. When piece measures 6 cm - See MEASUREMENT TIP - dec 1 st before both markers (= 2 dec sts) - See DECREASING TIP-1 – and when piece measures 12 cm dec 1 st after both markers. Repeat the dec before and after both markers alternately with 6 cm between each dec a total of 8 times each side = 66-73-81-86-94-105 sts. When piece measures 54 cm - REMEMBER MEASUREMENT TIP - inc 1 st before both markers (= 2 inc sts) and when piece measures 62 cm inc 1 st after both markers = 70-77-85-90-98-109 sts. When piece measures 68-69-70-71-72-73 cm work 1 row from WS as follows: K the middle 8-8-8-8-10-10 sts each side (i.e. 4-4-4-4-5-5 sts each side of both markers) and work remaining sts as before. On next row cast off the middle 4-4-4-4-6-6 sts each side for armhole and complete each piece separately. BACK PIECE: = 28-31-35-38-40-45 sts. Continue in stocking st with 2 garter sts each side. AT THE SAME TIME, on next row from RS dec 1 st each side for armhole – See DECREASING TIP-2 – and repeat the dec on every other row (i.e. on every row from RS) a total of 1-2-3-4-4-6 times = 26-27-29-30-32-33 sts. Continue in stocking st with 2 garter sts each side until piece measures 84-86-88-90-92-94 cm - REMEMBER MEASUREMENT TIP! Now cast off the middle 6-7-7-8-8-9 sts for neck and complete each shoulder separately. Cast off 1 st on neckline on next row = 8-8-9-9-11-11 sts left on shoulder. Work 1 row and cast off, piece measures approx 86-88-90-92-94-96 cm. RIGHT FRONT PIECE: = 17-19-21-22-23-26 sts. Continue in stocking st with 2 garter sts each side. AT THE SAME TIME dec for armhole at the side as described for back piece on next row from RS = 16-17-18-18-19-20 sts. Continue in stocking st with 2 garter sts each side until piece measures 86-88-90-92-94-96 cm. On next row from WS cast off the outermost 8-8-9-9-11-11 sts towards shoulder= 8-9-9-9-10-11 sts left on needle for neckline, work remaining sts on row. Continue in garter st back and forth on remaining sts, AT THE SAME TIME work shortened rows as follows (with start from RS): * K 2 rows on the 6 sts towards mid front only (i.e. work 6 sts, turn piece, slip first st, tighten thread and work return row), K 2 rows on all sts *, repeat from *-* until neckline measures approx 8-9-9-9-9-10 cm on the shorter side (= approx 16-18-18-18-18-20 cm along the longer side) – P 1 row from RS on all sts and cast off. LEFT FRONT PIECE: Like right front piece, but mirrored. ASSEMBLY: Sew shoulder seams. Sew neckline tog mid back – NOTE: sew inside cast off row to have the 2 rows with P sts facing each other mid back (as seen from RS). Sew neckline to neck on back piece. TWISTED STRING: Cut 1 strand Polaris measuring approx 250 cm. Pull the thread through the outermost st on one front piece (fasten at the back), approx 28 to 32 cm from shoulder (or desired position). Twist the thread until it resists, place it double and let it twist again. Tie a knot at the end. Make a similar string on the other front piece and tie a bow mid front. |
