I am knitting a hat following Papaye Punch pattern in size 7/10. I am using Merino Wool : Aran/Medium Texture: S on S plied. Gauge 17 sts/10cm. Balls 50 g = 90m. I am not well acquainted with yarn substitution. Can this work? I am using 4,5mm and 5,5mm circular needles with cable 40cm. THIS QUESTION is in complement to my previous question Thank you
13.01.2025 - 23:14DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrs Farthing, hat is worked in the round, you can use either a circular needle in 40 cm then double pointed needles (for the top of hat) or 1 long circular needle and work with magic loop - just as you rather. Happy knitting!

Hello, I may have asked the question before. Sorry if I\'m repeating myself. I working on the hat and wish to work with circular needles only. Do I use a circular needle(40 cm / 16") or longer cables ? I thought of using the magic loop method. What do you think?\r\nCheryl Farthing

Bon tricot!

Can I adjust the size? My grand-daughter’s head measures 56cm. She’s 8y. Pattern: R1: knit to end *R2-R6: P1, K1 (ending with k1) R7-R8: knit* Repeat *-* until work measures 18 cm in my case. END with 4 rows in seed st as per pattern
10.11.2024 - 14:09DROPS Design answered:
Dear Cheryl, you are free to adjust the size to your desired measurements. You can check the following lesson for more information on how to calculate a pattern: https://www.garnstudio.com/lesson.php?id=25&cid=19. Remember that the neck is elastic so, while the circunference is smaller, it's meant to be stretched when passing it through an approx. 53-55cm head (it should fit your grand-daughter's too). However, if you make the neck warmer too big it will sit loosely and then it will not feel as warm. Happy knitting!

Bon tricot!
