Hi! I think my question was misunderstood. I wanted to know how the needles holds in the case. Are the needles placed in pairs for example like a case bought in a knitted shop. Magic loop and dps are not a problem for me. Sorry for not being more clearer when asking my question. S

Hello Sharon! Yes, these are like empty tubes, but you can connect similar needles with a little rubber band before putting needles into the case. Hope it helps!

I really do need knitting needle case and was happy to find one here without looking for one here. However am not sure how it works when holding the needles together. If its like taking a whole brunch og needles an rolling them together then this won’t work for me. Would like to know before making this. Have a lot og both double pointed needles and circular needles and am having a hard time keeping them organized. Thanks for your help S

Hoi. Je hebt gelijk. Het moet 9 mm zijn. Ik heb het patroon gewijzigd. Bedankt en veel plezier mee. Gr. Tine

Bovenaan staat "breinld zonder knop 9 mm", maar in de beschrijving Hoes voor rechte breinaalden staat "zet 8 st op met nld 8 mm". Is dit gewoon een typefoutje?

Cast on 8 sts on needle size 9 mm with red. ROUND 1: * K2, 1 YO *, repeat from *-* = 12 sts. SEE KNITTING TIP! ROUND 2: * K3, 1 YO *, repeat from *-* = 16 sts. ROUND 3: * K4, 1 YO *, repeat from *-* = 20 sts. ROUND 4: * K5, 1 YO *, repeat from *-* = 24 sts. ROUND 5: * K6, 1 YO *, repeat from *-* = 28 sts. ROUND 6: * K7, 1 YO *, repeat from *-* = 32 sts. Work 6 rounds red stocking st and now continue in stripe pattern – SEE ABOVE. When piece measures 70 cm cast off the first 15 sts = 17 sts left on needle. FLAP: Continue back and forth on needle in red stocking st, AT THE SAME TIME on row 4 dec 1 st each side by K2 tog inside 1 edge st. Repeat the dec on every 4th row until there are 3 sts left on needle. Cast on 12 new sts at the end of next row (= button loop), and then cast off all sts. ASSEMBLY: Sew button loop to the other end of cast off row. Run a thread through sts on cast on row, tighten hard and fasten to close the case at the bottom. Felt case as explained below. Sew on button after felting. ---------------------------------------------------------- CIRCULAR NEEDLE CASE: Worked in the round on double pointed needles. Cast on 40 sts on double pointed needles size 9 mm with red. Work 6 rounds stocking st and continue in stripe pattern – SEE ABOVE. When piece measures 38 cm cast of the first 19 sts = 21 sts left. FLAP: Continue back and forth on needle in red stocking st, AT THE SAME TIME on row 4 dec 1 st each side by K2 tog inside 1 edge st. Repeat the dec on every other row until there are 3 sts left on needle. Cast on 12 new sts at the end of next row (= button loop), and then cast off all sts. ASSEMBLY: Sew button loop to the other end of cast off row. Sew case tog at the bottom, edge to edge to avoid a chunky seam. Felt case . Sew on button after felting. FELTING: The piece can be felted either in the washing machine or the tumble dryer – read description below. Remember: Subsequent washes are as for a normal wool garment. IN WASHING MACHINE: Washing machines will vary when felting. If the piece is not felted enough, it can be felted again. If it is felted too much, it can be stretched to the correct size while still wet. DO THE FOLLOWING: Lay the piece in the washing machine, using a programme of approx. 40 minutes (not a wool programme). Wash at 40 degrees without pre-wash, detergent is optional. After washing, shape the piece while it is still wet. IN TUMBLE DRYER: Felting in a tumble dryer gives good control over the degree of felting. The tumble dryer can be opened during drying to check the size of the piece. If it is not felted enough it can be thoroughly wetted and felted again. If it is felted too much it can be stretched to the correct size while still wet. DO THE FOLLOWING: Lay the piece in water so it becomes completely wet, then place it in the tumble dryer and begin the drying process. Dry to the desired size, checking regularly. |
