GARTER ST (back and forth on needle): K all rows. -------------------------------------------------------- SHAWL: Worked back and forth on circular needle. Cast on 6 sts on circular needle size 15 mm with light brown Vienna. Work GARTER ST - see above (row 1 = WS) and STRIPES as described below. AT THE SAME TIME at the end of every row from RS inc 1 st by working 2 sts in the last st. NOTE: Make all colour changes at the end of row from RS, leave approx 20 cm thread for tassels. STRIPES: * 2 rows Vienna no 43, 4 rows Vienna no 43 + Cotton Viscose no 27, 2 rows Cotton Viscose no 27 + Snow no 23, 2 rows Snow no 23 + Cotton Viscose no 24, 4 rows Puddel no 50, 4 rows Snow no 43p, 4 rows Vienna no 42 (X) – see below, 4 rows Vienna no 43 + Cotton Viscose no 27 2 rows Cotton Viscose no 27 + Snow no 23, 2 rows Snow no 23 + Cotton Viscose no 24, 4 rows Puddel no 03, 2 rows Vienna no 43 4 rows Vienna no 43 + Cotton Viscose no 24 (XX) – see below, 2 rows Cotton Viscose no 27 + Snow no 09, 2 rows Snow no 09, 4 rows Vienna no 42 * Repeat from *-* (X) = The second time the stripes are repeated finish with this stripe incl = mid back. Work 6 rows with tan Snow + heather Cotton Viscose and cast off. BORDER: Crochet a row of dc along the top of shawl with crochet hook size 10 mm and tan Snow – make sure edge isn’t too tight. TASSELS: Cut strands measuring approx 40 cm each of the remaining yarn. Place the strands double and pull the loop through the sts along the 2 sides of shawl, pull ends through loop. Place the tassels with regular intervals and tie tog with thread ends from colour change. |
