Hi!

Hallo, Ich will die Mütze Stricken. Danke Laila

17.11.2021 - 17:53DROPS Design answered:
Liebe Angela, Sie sollen 24 cm im Rippenmuster stricken, dann A.1 (= Abnahmen) stricken. Viel Spaß beim stricken!

Forgive me I am a beginner. The Hat in this design does not have a "bigger" size - it is one size for all as far as I can tell. The stated head size is 54/58cm. So will the hat knitted as per the pattern (120 stitches on 3.5) be big enough? I do not understand the need for smaller needles. Can you explain that too please?
08.02.2021 - 15:32DROPS Design answered:
Dear Andy, sorry, I was wrong and you are right, yes there is only one size, but that is only one cm smaller than the head you wanted. However the suggestion is that try to knit somewhat looser and / or with bigger needles is still valid. Thus you will have the same number of stitches in the round, but fewer stitches / cm or inch, the resulting hat knitted with a bit bigger (and not smaller) needle will be bigger. I hope this will clear up the confusion. Happy Knitting!

------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- PATTERN (for hat): See diagram A.1. ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- HAT – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: The piece is worked in the round with circular needle, bottom up. Change to double pointed needles when necessary. HAT: Cast on 120 stitches with circular needle size 3.5 mm and 2 strands Kid-Silk. Purl 1 round. Work rib with knit 1, purl 1. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When the piece measures 24 cm work A.1 (= 12 stitches) a total of 10 times in width. When A.1 has been worked 1 time in height there are 20 stitches on the needles. Knit all stitches together 2 and 2 = 10 stitches. Cut the strands, pull them through the remaining stitches, pull tight and fasten all threads. The hat measures approx. 31 cm. ------------------------------------------------------- WRIST WARMERS - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: The piece is worked in the round with double pointed needles. WRIST WARMER: Cast on 40 stitches with double pointed needles size 3.5 mm and 2 strands Kid-Silk. Work rib in the round with knit 1, purl 1 until the piece measures 16 cm. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! Cast off with knit over knit and purl over purl. Work the other wrist warmer in the same way. |
