------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- 2-COLOURED ENGLISH RIB (in the round): ROUND 1: Worked with colour (1). * 1 yarn over, slip 1 stitch as if to purl, knit 2 together *, work from *-* to end of round. ROUND 2: Work with colour (2). * Purl the yarn over and the slipped stitch together, 1 yarn over, slip 1 stitch as if to purl *, work from *-* - read KNITTING TIP. ROUND 3: Work with colour (1). * 1 yarn over, slip 1 stitch as if to purl, knit yarn over and slipped stitch together *, work from *-* (be careful; the last yarn over does not look like a yarn over, but the strand of colour 2 is at the front of the piece; lay the strand over to make a yarn over). Repeat rounds 2 and 3. KNITTING TIP: If you are wondering which colour to use on the next round, you can see the colour of the previous round by the colour used for the yarn overs. STRIPES: NOTE: (1) is the colour which will be visible in the English rib stitch on the right side of the piece and (2) is the colour at the back and will be visible in the English rib stitches on the wrong side. STRIPE 1: 4 cm with (1) jeans blue and (2) black. STRIPE 2: 4 cm with (1) jeans blue and (2) hazelnut. STRIPE 3: 2½ cm with (1) jeans blue and (2) white. STRIPE 4: 2½ cm with (1) peach and (2) white. NECK WARMER: Cast on 153-165 stitches with circular needle size 4 mm and black. Work 2-COLOURED ENGLISH RIB and STRIPES – read descriptions above. When the first round of 2-colouredEnglish rib has been worked there are 102-110 stitches on the round. REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When all the stripes have been completed in height the neck warmer measures approx. 50 cm.
