LOVE KNOT: * Pull st on needle approx 4 cm long, yarn over needle, pull yarn over needle through st, insert needle in loop behind the long st (see fig.1 – loop = D in fig.1), yarn over needle, pull yarn through loop (= 2 sts on hook), yarn over needle, pull yarn over needle through both sts on hook * (from *-* = 1 love knot). -------------------------------------------------------- BLANKET: Worked in 2 threads Snow with crochet hook size 10 mm. ROW 1: Work 1 ch. See fig.2. Crochet 36 love knots – see above (includes 2 to turn with). ROW 2: Turn piece. Work 1 dc in the 5th love knot from hook, * work 2 love knots, skip 1 love knot, 1 dc in next love knot *, repeat from *-* and finish with 1 dc in ch from beg of row 1. ROW 3: Crochet 2 love knots, 1 dc in the last but one love knot from previous row, * 2 love knots, skip 1 love knot, 1 dc in next love knot *, repeat from *-*. ROW 4: Turn piece. Repeat row 3 and 4 until piece measures approx 160 cm (finish with row 4). Now crochet a border as follows (see fig.3, X = beg of border): Turn piece. Crochet 2 love knots, 1 dc in the last but one love knot from previous row, * 1 love knot, 1 dc in next love knot *, repeat from *-* (makes an even edge) to the end of the side, work 2 love knots (= corner), continue along the longer side of blanket, 1 dc in next love knot, * 1 love knot, 1 dc in next love knot *, repeat from *-* to the end of this side, work 2 love knots (= corner), continue along the next side (= first row of blanket), 1 dc in next love knot, * 1 love knot, 1 dc in next love knot *, repeat from *-* to the end of this side and finish with 2 love knots and 1 sl st in ch from beg of row 1 of blanket. TASSEL: Work 1 dc in the corner of blanket, work 8 ch and finish with 1 sl st in dc from beg. Cut 22 threads measuring approx 30 cm each, fold them double and pull through the crochet loop with the folded part at the top of loop by blanket edge. Spread the threads over the loop and wind one of the threads round the top of tassel and loop to hold the tassel in place. Fasten the thread. Repeat at the other 3 corners. |
