CARDIGAN: Gauge: 6 sts x 8 rows with 3 strands yarn in garter st = 10 x 10 cm (measured when piece is held up). Knitting tips (for neckband): All decs are made on right side rows. Dec inside 3 edge sts in garter st as follows:After 3 edge sts: P 2 tog, twisting sts. If this is too difficult: slip 2 sts, return them to left needle, twisting each, then P 2 tog. Before 3 edge sts: P 2 tog. Measuring-tips: Due to the weight of the garment, all measurements must be made when held up, otherwise the garment will be too long when worn. Stripe Pattern: See charts. The chart on the left is for Sizes S + M + L. The chart on the right is for Sizes XL + XXL. 1 row of the chart = 2 rows garter st. Back: Cast on 27-30-33-36-39 sts with 1 strand each army green + pistachio + beige (= 3 strands). Knit garter st following Pattern 1 – use the appropriate chart for your size. When Pattern 1 is complete, continue with the colors in the last stripe to finished measurements. When the piece measures 55-56-57-58-59 cm – see Measuring-tips – bind off 2-3-4-5-6 sts at each side for armhole = 23-24-25-26-27 sts. When the piece measures 72-74-76-78-80 cm bind off the center 5-6-5-6-7 sts for the neck. On the next row dec 1 st at each neck edge – see knitting tips = 8-8-9-9-9 sts remain on each shoulder. Bind off when the piece measures 74-76-78-80-82 cm. Left front: Cast on 17-19-20-22-23 sts with 1 strand each army green + pistachio + beige (= 3 strands). Knit garter st following Pattern 1 – use the appropriate chart for your size. When Pattern 1 is complete, continue with the colors in the last stripe to finished measurements. Read the entire section before knitting: Neckband: When the piece measures 50-50-50-52-52 cm – read Measuring-tips – dec 1 st for neck at center front edge inside 3 edge sts every other row – see knitting tips: 7-8-7-8-8 times. Armhole: When the piece measures 55-56-57-58-59 cm bind off for armhole at the side as on back. After all armhole and neck shaping is complete 8-8-9-9-9 sts remain on shoulder. Right front: Cast on and knit the same as the left, reversing all shaping. Sleeve: Cast on 15-15-16-17-18 sts with 1 strand each orange + stark pink + rust (= 3 strands). Knit garter st following Pattern 1 – use the appropriate chart for your size and start at the top of chart and knit down so that the stripes are opposite those on Body. When the piece measures 12 cm inc 1 st at each side every 16-11-10-9-9 cm a total of 3-4-4-4-4 times = 21-23-24-25-26 sts. When sleeve measures 48-47-45-43-42 cm – read Measuring-tips – put a marker at each side to indicate where sleeve seam will be sewn. When the piece measures 49 cm bind off for sleeve cap. Bind off 5 sts at each side every other row 2 times, then bind off the remaining sts, the piece measures approx. 54 cm. Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Sew side seams, leaving 15 cm open at the lower edge of each side (= side split). Sew sleeve seams (from wrist up to the marker), and sew into the armhole. Buttons: There is no need for buttonholes as the sts are so large. Sew on buttons evenly distributed on left button band as follows: the bottom button approx. 20 cm from lower edge and the top button approx. 3 cm from where neck shaping begins. Belt: Cast on 6 sts with 1 strand each army green + pistachio + beige (= 3 strands). Knit garter st until belt measures approx. 120-150 cm, bind off. TOP IN PARIS Sizes: S - M - L - XL - XXL Finished measurements: Bust: 68-76-84-94-104 cm Hem: 56-64-72-82-92 cm The measurements seem a little small, but the garment will be very stretchy, so make a size approx. 4 to 6 cm smaller than usual. Materials: DROPS PARIS from Garnstudio 150-150-150-200-200 gr nr 45, orange 50 - 50 - 50 - 50 - 50 gr nr 38, coral DROPS 7 mm needles, or size needed to obtain correct gauge. Gauge: 14 sts x 24 rows in garter st = 10 x 10 cm. Knitting tips (armhole and neck): Dec at the neck edge as follows: Slip 1 st as if to knit, K 1, psso. Yarn: Cut strands of both orange and coral, then tie together and wind into 1 ball. Tie knots securely with approx. 3 cm of each yarn left hanging – the ends will show on the outside of the garment. For 1 ball, cut and tie * 2 m. orange, 1 m. coral, 4 m. orange, 2 m. coral, 2 m. orange, 4 m. coral, 8 m. orange, 1 m. coral *, repeat from * - * 1 more time. Make 2 balls. Front: Loosely cast on 41-47-53-60-67 sts and knit garter st. When 1 ball is finished, knit with orange to finished measurements. When the piece measures 8 cm inc 1 st at each side every 6-6-7-7-7 cm a total of 4 times = 49-55-61-68-75 sts. When the piece measures 32-33-34-35-37 cm bind off 3-3-3-4-5 sts at each side for armhole. Then dec 1 st at each side every other row 1-3-5-7-9 times – see knitting tips = 41-43-45-46-47 sts. Continue in garter st but in order to make the armhole edge neat, slip the first st of every row beginning at armhole to finished measurements. When the piece measures 34-36-38-40-42 cm bind off the center 15-15-15-16-17 sts for the neck. Then dec 1 st at each neck edge every other row 3 times – see knitting tips = 10-11-12-12-12 sts remain on each shoulder. Continue in garter st but now slip the 1st st at the beginning of every row (neck and armhole). Bind off all sts when the piece measures 48-50-52-54-56 cm. Back: Cast on and knit the same as the front. Bind off for armhole as on front. When the piece measures 46-48-50-52-54 cm bind off the center 19-19-19-20-21 sts for the neck. On the next row dec 1 st at each neck edge – see knitting tips = 10-11-12-12-12 sts remain on each shoulder. Bind off when the piece measures 48-50-52-54-56 cm. Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Sew side seams using edge sts as seam allowance. |
