I'm confused. I've read the pattern and also questions and responses here, still confused. Pattern says row 1 is WS. So knit row 1, purl row 2 etc. Pattern says increase on row 4. That would be a purl row, but the question was asked and response was knit front and back. Doesn't make sense. How di you KFB on a purl row? What am I not seeing here? I would expect to do an increase KFB on a knit row.

Dear Mrs Henderson, as 1st row should be worked from the wrong side, you should purl this first row, so R1 (WS)=purl, R2 (RS)= knit; so that row 4 is a row from RS, and that you will knit front and back a knit stitch to increase from right side. Happy knitting!

Are you carrying the yarns up the side or cutting and weaving in all those ends?

Dear Karen, carry the yarns up the side all the way. Happy knitting!

Bon tricot!

Pattern states.....Cast on 6 sts, work 6 rows in stockinette...first row = wrong side...so should I start knitting on cast on sts with purl stitch? Thus making right side even number rows with knit sts, and increase on a knit st row. Or is the cast on row considered first row? Thanks for your help
25.01.2019 - 18:23DROPS Design answered:
Dear Mrrs Verstegen, you work 6 rows stocking stitch starting with row 1 = wrong side, row 2 = right side, so that row 6 will be worked from right side. Continue then working the stripes with 2 rows each colour - first row each stripe will then be worked from WS. Happy knitting!

What a beautiful scarf. I bought the yarn yesterday. Hope to start over the weekend. I have a question as I am a new self taught knitter. How do you knit the inc 1 st at the end of row by working 2 sts in last st on the 4th row ?Is this a M1 increase. Can someone direct me to a video of how to do it . Thank you
14.10.2015 - 17:10DROPS Design answered:
Dear Siobhan, you inc 1 st at the end of row by working 2 sts in outermost st, ie knit the last st into front and back loop - see video. Happy knitting!

Is the increase at every 4th row only. There are no increases in any other rows? Thanks.
06.04.2015 - 14:09DROPS Design answered:
Dear Melinda, that's correct, you inc every 4th row (= every other row worked from RS). Happy knitting!
