Gauge: 17 sts x 22 rows with 2 strands in stockinette st = 10 x 10 cm. Rib: * K 4, P 4 *, repeat from * - *. Pattern: See charts. The pattern is seen from the right side and is knit entirely 2 strands of yarn following instructions below. Note: the measurements shown next to each chart are incorrect. The correct measurements are: M.1 = 25 cm, M.2 = 22 cm, M.3 = 40 cm. Front: Cast on 70-78-86-94-102 sts with 1 strand beige Silke-Tweed and 1 strand beige Cotton-Viscose. Knit Pattern 1 and then Pattern 2. Knit the first 4 cm in rib as follows (row 1 = right side): Sizes S + L + XXL: K 1 (edge st knit in garter st), * P 4, K 4 *, repeat from * - *, finish with P 4 and K 1 (edge st knit in garter st). Sizes M + XL: K 1 (edge st knit in garter st), * K 4, P 4 *, repeat from * - *, finish with K 4 and K 1 (edge st knit in garter st). After 4 cm change to stockinette st but keep the center 36 sts in rib as established to finished measurements. When the piece measures 12 cm inc 1 st at each side every 6 cm a total of 4 times = 78-86-94-102-110 sts. When the piece measures 35-36-37-38-39 cm bind off for armhole at each side every other row: 4 sts 1 time, 3 sts 0-0-1-1-1 time, 2 sts 1-2-2-3-4 times and 1 st 2-3-3-4-5 times = 62-64-66-68-70 sts. When the piece measures 46-48-49-51-53 cm put the center 16 sts on a st holder for the neck. Then bind off at each neck edge every other row: 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 2 times and 1 st 3 times = 13-14-15-16-17 sts remain on each shoulder. Bind off when the piece measures 54-56-58-60-62 cm. Back: Cast on the same as the front and knit rib as follows: Sizes S + L + XXL: K 1 (edge st knit in garter st), * K 4, P 4 *, repeat from * - * and finish with K 4 and K 1 (edge st knit in garter st). Sizes M + XL: K 1 (edge st knit in garter st), * P 4, K 4 *, repeat from * - * and finish with P 4 and K 1 (edge st knit in garter st). After the rib knit all sts in stockinette st following Pattern 1 then Pattern 2 to finished measurements. Bind off for armhole as on front. When the piece measures 52-54-56-58-60 cm bind off the center 32 sts for the neck. Bind off 2 sts at each neck edge on the next row = 13-14-15-16-17 sts remain on each shoulder. Bind off when the piece measures 54-56-58-60-62 cm. Sleeve: Cast on 42-42-42-50-50 sts with 1 strand beige Silke-Tweed + 1 strand beige Cotton-Viscose. Following Pattern 3, knit rib for 4 cm, with 1 edge st at each side in garter st, and beginning rib with K 2 (right side row). After 4 cm change to stockinette st, with 6 sts rib + 1 edge st at each edge. When the piece measures 12-12-12-14-14 cm inc 1 st inside of 7 sts at each side (edge st + rib sts) every 4-3-2.5-2.5-2 cm a total of 9-11-13-11-13 times = 60-64-68-72-76 sts – knit the increased sts in stockinette st as you go along. When sleeve measures 47-46-45-43-41 cm bind off for sleeve cap at each side every other row: 4 sts 1 time, 2 sts 3-4-3-3-2 times and 1 st 1-1-5-7-10 times, then bind off 2 sts at each side until the piece measures 55 cm, then bind off 3 sts 1 time at each side. The piece measures approx. 56 cm, bind off the remaining sts. Assembly: Sew shoulder seams. Neckband: Pick up approx. 86-94 sts (divisible by 4 + 2, incl. sts on st holder) around the neck on double-pointed needles with 1 strand rust Silke-Tweed + 1 strand rust Cotton-Viscose. Knit as follows: the 12 sts at center front continue in rib over sts from front (= K 4, P 4, K 4), over the remaining sts P 1 row, K 1 row and then continue with P 2, K 2. When neckband measures 2 cm bind off all sts in rib. Sew in sleeves. Sew sleeve and side seams using edge sts as a seam allowance. |
