Dear Ness, the outmost stitch is the stitch is at the edge. It has a loop toward the piece and another toward the edge, this loop is the outer loop. Happy Knitting!

Bonjour Mme Francoeur, vous devez tricoter en rangs raccourcis autrement dit 2 rangs sur 5 m, 2 rangs sur 10 m, 2 rangs sur 15 m etc jusqu'à ce que vous ayez tricoté 2 rangs sur les 35 mailles; votre ouvrage ressemblera alors à un triangle (ou éventail au choix, on voit ces triangles surl a photo grâce au jeu des couleurs), en répétant ces rangs raccourcis, vous obtiendrez un rond et pourrez ensuite assembler les mailles rabattues aux mailles du montage. Tout à la fin, serrez le fil du milieu et sécurisez-le (cf vidéo). Bon tricot!

KNITTING TIP: The mat is tightened tog in the middle by pulling the thread through the outermost loop of the outermost st. SMALL MAT (diameter approx 12 cm): Cast on 15 sts on needle size 2.5 mm with Fabel, leave a thread end of approx 30 cm. Use this to tighten the mat tog, tighten as you go along to see how many repeats you need to knit – see KNITTING TIP! K 1 row and now K all sts on every row, AT THE SAME TIME work shortened rows as follows: * work the first 5 sts, turn and work return row, work the first 10 sts, turn and work return row, work all sts, turn and work return row *, repeat from *-* until there are approx 33 repeats (tighten tog and make sure you have a flat circle). Cast off. MEDIUM MAT (diameter approx 19 cm): Cast on 25 sts on needle size 2.5 mm with Fabel, leave a thread end of approx 30 cm.
