CROCHET SQUARE: Work 7 ch on hook size 5 mm with Lima and form a ring with 1 sl st in first ch - use the colour from first round of square - see explanation above. ROUND 1: 3 ch (= 1 tr), work 15 tr in ch-ring and finish with 1 sl st in 3rd ch from beg of round = 16 tr. ROUND 2: Turn piece, 5 ch (= 1 tr + 2 ch), * 1 tr in next tr, 2 ch *, repeat from *-* the entire round and finish with 1 sl st in 3rd ch from beg of round = 16 tr with 2 ch between each. ROUND 3: 1 ch, turn piece, 2 ch (= 1 tr), 1 tr in first ch-loop, * 2 ch, 2 tr in next ch-loop *, repeat from *-* the entire round and finish with 2 ch and 1 sl st in 3rd ch from beg of round. ROUND 5: Turn piece, 3 ch (= 1 tr), 2 tr in first ch-loop, 3 tr in next ch-loop, then work 5 tr + 2 ch + 5 tr in every 6-ch-loop (= corner), and 3 tr in every 3-ch-loop the entire round, finish with 1 sl st in 3rd ch from beg of round. Cut and fasten the thread. ASSEMBLY: Place the squares with 6 squares in breadth and 11 squares in height - see Fig. 1. Crochet squares tog with beige mix - crochet squares tog alongside and then across as follows: Place 2 squares tog WS against WS and work tog from RS as follows: 1 dc in corner of first square, 1 ch, 1 dc in corner of next square, 1 ch, 1 dc in next st on first square, 1 ch, 1 dc in next st on second square, 1 ch, 1 dc in next st on first square, 1 ch, 1 dc in next st on second square etc. finish when 1 dc has been worked in the next corner on both squares, cut and fasten the thread. NOTE: Make sure that the transitions between every square are pretty when the squares are worked tog alongside. CROCHET BORDER: Work a finishing edge around the entire blanket with beige mix as follows: Beg in one corner and work from RS: ROUND 1: 1 sl st in the corner, 1 ch, then work 1 dc in every st the entire round (i.e. 1 dc in every tr, 1 dc in each corner on the squares, 2 dc in every transition between every square and 2 dc in each corner on the blanket), finish with 1 sl st in first ch from beg of round. ROUND 2: 3 ch, (= 1 tr), then work 1 tr in every dc the entire round but work 2 tr in each of the 2 dc in every corner on the blanket = 4 tr in the corners, finish with 1 sl st in 3rd ch from beg of round. ROUND 3: 3 ch, (= 1 tr), then work 1 tr in every tr but work 2 tr in each of the 4 tr in every corner on the blanket = 8 tr in each corner, finish with 1 sl st in 3rd ch from beg of round. ROUND 4: 3 ch, * skip 3 tr, 1 dc in next tr, skip 3 tr, 10 tr in next tr *, repeat from *-* the entire round - adjust so that there is one 10tr-group in every corner and finish with 1 sl st in 1st dc on round. |
