---------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATION FOR THE PATTERN: ---------------------------------------------------------- PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 to A.4. Remember to read the diagrams from right to left from right side and from left to right from wrong side. CHAIN STITCH: If you work at the back of the crochet hook the chain stitch will often be too tight. 1 chain stitch should be just as long as 1 treble crochet is wide. CROCHET INFORMATION: Begin every round with 3 chain stitches, these chain stitches replace first treble crochet. At the end of round work 1 slip stitch in 3rd chain stitch from beginning of round, before turning piece so that next round is worked from the other side of piece. Work rounds alternately from right side and wrong side. 2 TREBLE CROCHETS TOGETHER: To close a hole work as follows around every chain space (applies to yoke) or in outermost chain stitch (applies to sleeve): * Make 1 yarn over, insert hook around chain space/in chain stitch, get yarn, make 1 yarn over and pull yarn through the first 2 loops on hook *, repeat from *-* 1 more time, there are 3 loops on hook, make 1 yarn over and pull yarn through all 3 loops on hook (= 1 stitch). DECREASE TIP: Decrease at beginning and end of round as round/rows follows: Work the first treble crochet as before (i.e. 3 chain stitches replace first treble crochet), work the next 2 treble crochets together as follows: * Make 1 yarn over, insert hook in next stitch, get yarn, make 1 yarn over and pull yarn through the first 2 loops on hook *, repeat from *-* 1 more time, there are 3 loops on hook, make 1 yarn over and pull yarn through all 3 loops on hook (= 1 stitch decreased). Work as before until 3 treble crochets remain at the end of round, decrease 1 treble crochet more the same way and work 1 treble crochet in last treble crochet on round (= 2 stitches decreased). ---------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ---------------------------------------------------------- JUMPER - SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE: Work the entire jumper in the round but work alternately from right side and wrong side to avoid a seam mid back and mid under sleeve. First work the yoke in the round from mid back, work top down. When yoke is done, divide piece for body and sleeves. Work body downwards while putting the sleeves aside. Then work the sleeves. Finally work an edge around the neck. If 0 is given for the chosen size, it means that you skip the information until next information. YOKE: Use DROPS Cotton Merino and hook size 4.5 mm. Work 80-84-88-92-96-100 CHAIN STITCHES - read explanation above. The entire piece is worked in treble crochets alternately from right side and wrong side - read PATTERN and CROCHET INFORMATION. Work first round as follows from wrong side: Work 1 treble crochet in each of the first 11-12-12-13-14-15 chain stitches (= half back piece), A.1 in next chain stitch (= raglan), 1 treble crochet in each of the next 16-16-18-18-18-18 chain stitches (= sleeve), A.2 in next chain stitch (= raglan), 1 treble crochet in each of the next 22-24-24-26-28-30 chain stitches (= front piece), A.1 in next chain stitch (= raglan), 1 treble crochet in each of the next 16-16-18-18-18-18 chain stitches (= sleeve), A.2 in next chain stitch (= raglan), 1 treble crochet in each of the last 11-12-12-13-14-15 chain stitches (= half back piece). After first round there are 84-88-92-96-100-104 treble crochets and 4 chain spaces on row. Continue in the round alternately from right side and from wrong side until A.1 and A.2 have been worked vertically - remember to finish the round with 1 slip stitch in 3rd chain stitch from beginning of same round before turning to close the yoke. There are 140-144-148-152-156-160 treble crochets and 4 chain spaces on row, the stitches are distributed as follows between chain spaces: 32-32-34-34-34-34 treble crochets for each sleeve and 38-40-40-42-44-46 treble crochets for both front piece and back piece. Remember to follow the crochet tension! Now continue with A.3 over A.1 and A.4 over A.2 9-10-11-12-13-15 times in total vertically, and 14-15-16-17-18-20 rounds have been worked in total from beginning of piece. There are 248-264-280-296-312-340 treble crochets and 4 chain spaces on round, the stitches are distributed as follows between chain spaces: 50-52-56-58-60-64 treble crochets for each sleeve and 74-80-84-90-96-106 treble crochets for both front piece and back piece. Work 1 round with 1 treble crochet in every treble crochet, but to close the holes work 2 TREBLE CROCHETS TOGETHER – read explanation above, around every chain space = 252-268-284-300-316-344 treble crochets. Piece measures approx. 19-20-21-23-24-26 cm mid back (= at the beginning of round). Now divide yoke for body and sleeves. DIVIDING FOR BODY AND SLEEVES: AT THE SAME TIME on next round divide yoke for body and sleeves as follows: Work 1 treble crochet in each of the first 38-41-43-46-49-54 treble crochets (= half back piece), skip 50-52-56-58-60-64 treble crochets (= sleeve), work 4-4-6-8-12-12 chain stitches (= in the side under sleeve), work 1 treble crochet in each of the next 76-82-86-92-98-108 treble crochets (= front piece), skip 50-52-56-58-60-64 treble crochets (= sleeve), work 4-4-6-8-12-12 chain stitches (= in the side under sleeve), work 1 treble crochet in each of the next 38-41-43-46-49-54 treble crochets (= half back piece). Now finish body while putting the sleeves aside. Cut the yarn, now round begins mid under one sleeve. BODY: = 160-172-184-200-220-240 stitches. Adjust the beginning from right side or wrong side so that texture on yoke continues as before on body. Begin with 1 slip stitch in the 3rd-3rd-4th-5th-7th-7th chain stitch cast on in the side under one sleeve on body (= approx. mid under sleeve) – now round begins here, work 3 chain stitches (equals first treble crochet), work 1 treble crochet in each of the next 1-1-2-3-5-5 chain stitches, work 1 treble crochet in each treble crochet until chain stitches, work 1 treble crochet in each of the 4-4-6-8-12-12 chain stitches, work 1 treble crochet in every treble crochet until the next chain stitches, work 1 treble crochet in each of the last 2-2-3-4-6-6 chain stitches = 160-172-184-200-220-240 treble crochets. Work in the round alternately from right side and wrong side with treble crochets as before until jumper measures approx. 47-49-50-52-54-56 cm mid back. Jumper measures approx. 52-54-56-58-60-62 cm from the top of shoulder. SLEEVES: Adjust the beginning from right side or wrong side so that texture on yoke continues as before on sleeves. Begin with 1 slip stitch in the 3rd-3rd-4th-5th-7th-7th chain stitch cast on in the side under sleeve on body (= approx. mid under sleeve) work 3 chain stitches (equals first treble crochet), work 1 treble crochet in each of the next 0-0-1-2-4-4 chain stitches, work 2 treble crochets together in the last chain stitch, work 1 treble crochet in each of the 50-52-56-58-60-64 treble crochets skipped on sleeve, work 2 treble crochets together in the first chain stitch, and work 1 treble crochet in each of the last 1-1-2-3-5-5 chain stitches cast on under sleeve = 54-56-62-66-72-76 treble crochets. Finish round with 1 slip stitch in 3rd chain stitch from beginning of round Insert a marker at beginning of piece (= mid under sleeve). Work in the round alternately from right side and from wrong side in treble crochets as before. When sleeve measures approx. 2 cm, decrease 1 treble crochet on each side of marker mid under sleeve - read DECREASE TIP. Decrease like this approx. every 8-8-0-0-0-0 cm 2-2-1-1-1-1 time in total = 50-52-60-64-70-74 treble crochets. Work until sleeve measures approx. 16-16-16-14-14-12 cm from division. Cut and fasten the yarn. NECK EDGE: Use crochet hook size 4.5 mm and work 1 slip stitch in chain stitch between back piece and right sleeve. Work 1 chain stitch, * skip 1 chain stitch from cast-on edge and work 1 double crochet in next chain stitch, work 1 chain stitch *, work from *-* around the entire neck edge, finish with 1 slip stitch in first slip stitch at beginning of round. Cut and fasten the yarn. |
