Knaphul - vertikal
Keywords: knaphul,

That's an interesting and neat-looking way to do a horizontal buttonhole, but it sure isn't a vertical one! A vertical buttonhole would be vertical to the direction of knitting, no matter what direction you're working on the sweater.

Bon tricot! 08.03.2019 - 08:24Willemien wrote:

I love the look of this buttonhole and wonder if there are any written instructions to go along with the tutorial. I find it very difficult to follow with no verbal or written instructions to go with the tutorial. The instructor seems to be pointing out specific instructions but not sure what the reference is without sound. Is there a basic formula for this technique? Thank you for any help you can send my way.

Dear Mrs Ledermann, the basic technique is explained above the video, you have then to follow the pattern as it is explained for the number of sts for each buttonhole (which depends to the yarn worked, the tension worked, the size of the buttons, etc. ie the pattern you are working on). Happy knitting! 13.11.2015 - 09:33NTD wrote:

For me it looks quite hard to do. I always bind off the stitches and cast them on again, but I have to say the result is not that stretchy as it looks in this video.
