Hello, i would like to know why we cast-on 72 st for 54-56 size. since 10x10 gives 12x16. For size 56 we don't need 56x1,2=67,2....67 st?

Dear Emmanouela, the gauge was worked in stocking stitch with size 7mm needles. However, you are casting on 72 stitches with size 6mm needles. Since you are using smaller needles, you need more stitches to get to 56 cm than with 7mm needles. We also start working the rib, which contracts the piece horizontally, so we need a few more stitches to compensate for this contraction. Happy knitting!
