Materials: DROPS ALPACA from Garnstudio
250-300-300-350-400-400 g colour no 100, off-white.
And use: DROPS VIVALDI from Garnstudio
200-200-200-250-250-250 g colour no 06, off-white.

DROPS CIRCULAR NEEDLE (80 cm) size 5.5 mm – or size needed to get 16 sts x 22 rows in moss st = 10 x 10 cm with 1 strand of each quality.
DROPS CIRCULAR NEEDLE size 4.5 mm - for rib.

DROPS COCONUT BUTTON, no 515: 6-6-6-7-7-7 pcs.

Pattern instructions

NOTE: This pattern is written in British English. All measurements in charts are in cm. For conversion from cm to inches - click here. GARTER ST (back and forth on needle): K all rows.

MOSS ST:
Row 1: * K1, P1 *, repeat from *-*.
Row 2: K over P and P over K. Repeat Row 2.

BUTTONHOLES:
Make buttonholes on right front band.
1 buttonhole = K tog third and fourth st from mid front and make 1 YO. Make buttonholes when piece measures:
Size S: 39, 46, 54 and 61 cm.
Size M: 39, 47, 54 and 62 cm.
Size L: 41, 49, 57 and 65 cm.
Size XL: 40, 47, 55, 62 and 70 cm.
Size XXL: 42, 49, 56, 63 and 70 cm.
Size XXXL: 42, 50, 57, 65 and 72 cm.
(the last 2 buttonholes are made on neckline).

JACKET:
Worked back and forth on circular needle.
Cast on 202-214-230-250-282-306 sts on circular needle size 4.5 mm with Alpaca and Vivaldi (= 2 strands). P 1 row from WS and work next row as follows from RS: 6 front band sts in GARTER ST – see above, rib K2/P2 until 8 sts remain and finish with K2 and 6 front band sts in GARTER ST. Continue in rib like this. When piece measures 5 cm K 1 row from RS, AT THE SAME TIME dec 38-38-41-45-54-58 sts evenly (do not dec on front bands) = 164-176-189-205-228-248 sts. Change to circular needle size 5.5 mm and continue in MOSS ST - see above - with 6 front band sts in garter st each side. Insert a marker 44-47-50-54-60-65 st in from each side (= 76-82-89-97-108-118 sts between markers on back piece). REMEMBER THE KNITTING TENSION! When piece measures 8 cm dec 1 st each side of both markers (= 4 dec sts). Repeat the dec on every 20-20-20-20-13-13 cm a total of 3-3-3-3-4-4 times = 152-164-177-193-212-232 sts. AT THE SAME TIME when piece measures 39-39-41-40-42-42 cm make BUTTONHOLES on right front band - see above! When piece measures 52-53-54-55-56-57 cm divide piece by markers and complete each piece separately.

BACK PIECE:
= 70-76-83-91-100-110 sts. Now cast on 5 sts each side (cast on at the end of the next 2 rows) for sleeve = 80-86-93-101-110-120 sts. Continue in moss st on all sts. When piece measures 72-74-76-78-80-82 cm cast off the middle 26-26-29-29-32-32 sts for neck and complete each shoulder separately. Cast off 1 st on neckline on next row = 26-29-31-35-38-43 sts left on shoulder. Cast off LOOSELY when piece measures 74-76-78-80-82-84 cm.

RIGHT FRONT PIECE:
= 41-44-47-51-56-61 sts. Now cast on 5 new sts at the end of row towards the side for sleeve = 46-49-52-56-61-66 sts. Continue in moss st with front band in garter st as before. When piece measures 68-70-72-74-74-76 cm slip 14 sts towards mid front on a stitch holder for neck. Cast off to shape the neckline at the beg of every row from mid front: 2 sts 3-3-3-3-4-4 times and 1 st 0-0-1-1-1-1 time = 26-29-31-35-38-43 sts left on shoulder. Cast off LOOSELY when piece measures 74-76-78-80-82-84 cm.

LEFT FRONT PIECE:
Like right front piece, but mirrored. NOTE – Do not make buttonholes on left front band.

ASSEMBLY:
Sew shoulder seams.

NECKLINE:
Pick up from RS: 98-98-106-106-118-118 sts round the neck (includes sts on stitch holders at front) on circular needle size 4.5 mm with Alpaca and Vivaldi (= 2 strands). K 1 row from WS and continue as follows from RS: 6 front band sts in garter st, rib K2/P2 until 8 sts remain and finish with K2 and 6 front band sts in garter st. Continue in rib like this. AT THE SAME TIME when neckline measures 1-1-1-3-3-3 cm make buttonholes on right front band. Make the last buttonhole when neckline measures 8-8-8-10-10-10 cm. Cast off with K over K and P over P when neckline measures 10-10-10-12-12-12 cm.

SLEEVE EDGE:
Worked back and forth on circular needle. Pick up from RS: 90-94-98-102-106-110 sts (includes 1 edge st each side) along sleeve edge on circular needle size 4.5 mm with Alpaca and Vivaldi (= 2 strands). P 1 row from WS and continue in rib, K2/P2 with 1 edge st each side. When sleeve edge measures 5 cm cast off with K over K and P over P. Repeat along the other sleeve.

POCKETS:
Cast on 24-24-26-26-28-28 sts on circular needle size 5.5 mm with Alpaca and Vivaldi (= 2 strands). Work moss st back and forth on needle until pocket measures 10-10-11-11-12-12 cm. Change to circular needle size 4.5 mm and P 1 row from WS, AT THE SAME TIME inc 4-4-6-6-8-8 sts evenly = 28-28-32-32-36-36 sts. Work next row as follows from RS: 1 garter st, rib K2/P2 until 3 sts remain and finish with K2 and 1 garter st. Continue the rib like this and cast off with K over K and P over P when the rib measures 3 cm (the whole pocket measures 13-13-14-14-15-15 cm). Make 2.

FURTHER ASSEMBLY:
Sew the under arm seams inside 1 edge st. Sew on buttons. Graft the pockets to front piece, approx 12-15 cm from bottom edge and approx 5-8 cm from mid front (try the jacket on for correct placement).
