Pattern instructions

NOTE: This pattern is written in British English. All measurements in charts are in cm. For conversion from cm to inches - click here. There are different terms for crocheting in British and American English. If this pattern includes crochet, click for "crochet terms" here. For this pattern in American English, please click here.
Pattern: See diagram M.1 - 1 repeat across is 12 sts at the bottom, the repeat then inc to 22 sts and dec again to 6 sts. Note: The diagram is slightly distorted to make the pattern easier to read. This means that you need to beg 1 st before diagram (i.e. last st on previous round) in row 21 in diagram.
Basque hat: Worked in the round on small circular needle. Cast on 120 sts with Alpaca on circular needle size 3 mm. Work 2 cm stocking st and then work next round as follows: * K2 tog, 1 YO *, repeat from *-* (= folding edge), 2 cm stocking st. Change to circular needle size 3.5 mm and continue in M.1 = 10 repeats round hat. Remember the knitting tension! After M.1 there are 60 sts on round. Work 1 round K all sts tog 2 by 2, work 1 round stocking st and then work all sts tog 2 by 2 again = 15 sts. Cut the thread, pull through remaining sts and fasten.
Fold edge double towards WS and fasten. Hat measures approx 22 cm.

Très difficile à réaliser, j'ai même abandonné et défait mon travail en cours, malgré mon expérience, dommage parce que il était très beau.

Mirtha Durand 19.02.2016 - 01:39:

Please disregard my two comments before. It was my mistake I was doing wrong the detail from the center (taking 2 stitches instead of one). Sorry. My experience with Garnstudio has been always the best that's why I was very surprised with this pattern. My mistake.

Mirtha Durand 19.02.2016 - 00:17:

I have checked very carefully and line 11 and 12 don't fit with the 13th line. When one see the pattern the detail of the 13th line look centered but it can't be because the number of stitches are not enough to fit the detail in the center, it is impossible. I am very annoyed.

DROPS Design 19.02.2016 kl. 10:52:

Dear Mrs Durand, on row 12 you should have 22 sts in each repeat, work these as follows: K4, K2 tog, YO, K4, YO, slip 1 as if to K, K2 tog, psso, (= 3 middle sts on repetition) YO, K4, YO, slip 1 as if to K, K1, psso, K3. Happy knitting!

Mirtha Durand 18.02.2016 - 19:33:

Hi, for some reason I am stuck at row 13 nothing fits if I begin in the mark of the begining. Thank you.

DROPS Design 19.02.2016 kl. 10:10:

Dear Mrs Durand, it can be a good idea to add a marker between each repetition so that you can check your number of sts on every round. Happy knitting!

Caro-mou 14.02.2016 - 01:07:

Ich habe diese Mütze genau nach Anleitung, in angegebener Nadelstärke und Garn in "Alpaca" gestrickt. Ein sehr schönes Modell ! ! ! Allerdings benötigte ICH nur 1x 50 g Garn :-). Also war ein Knäuel übrig . . .

Row 21. Do you start with the last stitch on row 20? Where is the slip stitch, on row 20 or 21? One stitch before the marker is the last stitch on row 20.

DROPS Design 11.01.2016 kl. 10:08:

Dear Sue, row 21 starts 1 st before beg of round: slip last st on row 20, K tog the first 2 sts on row 21 and psso. Happy knitting!

MH ROBIN 10.12.2015 - 09:37:

Bon tricot!

Sue Nottingham 08.12.2015 - 19:27:

I am knitting Drops 108-3 and I just finished the 2cm of the stockings stich and K2 tog 1 YO. I don't know what to do. The first row of M 1 is K 6 then do I go to K 2 tog k1 slip stitch paso yo knit 2 tog slip 1 paso yo? Then continue down pattern and where is row 21?

DROPS Design 09.12.2015 kl. 10:22:

Dear Mrs Nottingham, after the 2 cm stocking st, and the row (K2 tog, YO), work 2 more cm stocking st (hem), then work M1 starting from the bottom corner on the right side (12 sts) and read from the right towards the left every round. On round 21, work the last st on round tog with the first repeat, and then the last st on the next repeat tog with the first st of next repeat. Happy knitting!

Eva-Maria Salisch 04.12.2014 - 11:36:
