Knitting tension: 26 sts x 34 rows stocking sts = 10 x 10 cm
Heel decrease:
1st row = RS Knit until 6-7-7 sts remain, slip next sts as if to knit, K1, psso, turn piece.
2nd row (=WS): Knit until 6-7-7 sts remain, slip next sts as if to purl, P1, psso, turn piece.
3rd row (= RS): Knit until 5-6-6 sts remain, slip next sts af if to knit, K1, psso, turn piece.
4th row (=WS): Knit until 5-6-6 sts remain, slip next sts as if to purl, P1, psso, turn piece.
Continue inc in same way, by knitting until there is 1 sts less left before slipping 1 sts as if to knit, until 14-14-16 sts remain on needle.

Socks: Knit piece in the round on double pointed needles from mid back. Cast on 104-112-120 sts on double pointed needles size 2.5 mm with Fabel. Knit 2 rounds stocking sts. Continue in Rib as follows: K1, * P5, K3 *, repeat from *-* and finish with 5 purl sts and 2 knit sts. Continue like this until piece measures 4-5-6 cm. Now dec 1 sts on every other row P part. Continue with K over K and P over P until piece measures 9-10-11 cm. Now dec 1 sts in remaining P parts = 91-98-105 sts. Continuing, K 3 and P4 until piece measures 14-15-16 cm. Now dec 1 sts on every other row P part. Continue with K over K and P over P until piece measures 19-20-21 cm. Now dec 1 sts in remaining P parts = 78-84-90 sts. Continuing, K3 and P3 until piece measures 24-25-26 cm. Insert marking thread or stitch holder on each side of 3 knitted sts mid back. Continue with stocking sts until piece is completed. Remember knitting tension! At the same time as dec 1 sts on each side of 3 sts mid back every 2 cm 11-12-13 times in total = 56-60-64 sts. When piece measures 46-49-51 cm keep first 12-13-14 sts on needle, slip next 32-34-36 sts on 1 thread (= mid foot top) and keep last 12-13-14 sts on needle = 24-26-28 sts for heel. Knit stocking sts back and forth over heel sts for 5-5.5-6 cm. Now dec for heel – see Heel decrease.

After heel decrease pick up 13-14-16 sts on each side of heel and slip the 32-34-36 sts from thread or stitch holder back on needle = 72-76-84 sts. Insert 2 new marking threads or stitch markers. 1 marking thread after first 18-20-22 sts and 1 marking thread or stitch marker after 54-56-62 sts (36-36-40 sts between marking threads or stitch markers = top of foot). Continue in stocking sts at the same time dec on each side as follows. Knit last 2 sts before 36-36-40 sts on top of foot into back of sts (i.e. knit into back of sts instead for front of sts), K2 first sts after 36-36-40 sts on top foot tog. Dec as follows on every other row 10-10-11 times in total = 52-56-62 sts. Knit until piece measures 18-19-21 cm measured from heel edge (i.e. where heel dec starts). Insert 1 marking thread or stitch holder on each side so 26-28-31 sts are left on top of the foot and 26-28-31 sts underneath the foot. Continue in stocking sts on all sts at the same time dec for toe on both sides of marking thread or stitch marker. Dec as follows before 1 knit sts and marking thread or stitch marker: K2 tog Dec as follows after marking thread or stitch marker and 1 knit sts: K2 tog knitting into back of sts. Dec as follows on each side on every other row 4-6-8 times in total and on every round 6-5-4 times = 12-12-14 sts left on needle. On next round knit all sts tog 2 by 2. Cut yarn and pull it through remaining sts, pull tog and sew away ends.

T. Briand 24.06.2018 - 16:06:

Bon tricot!

I am finding it extremely difficult to understand this pattern after the 26 cm measurement just prior to starting the stockinette sts. What do you mean by inserting stitch marker on each side of 3 knitted stitches. Which 3 knitted stitches? What type of heel is this? Maybe I can try looking it up as i really dont understand the instructions. Do you have a simplified version or something that is easier to understand. Thanks

DROPS Design 19.03.2018 kl. 11:48:

Dear Mrs Chow, when piece measures 26 cm and you continue working piece in stockinette, you don't start heel but continue leg dec mid back 1 st on each side of the middle 3 sts. Heel will start when piece measures 51 cm in larger size. Happy knitting!

Cecilie 29.08.2007 - 12:49:

Flotte sokker! elsker fargene og mønsteret! Disse må jeg prøve!:-)

Helle-V 22.08.2007 - 21:54:

Rigtig rigtig flotte. Helt vidunderlige. Dem skal jeg strikke.

Charlotte 08.08.2007 - 13:14:
