Pattern instructions

Knitting Tension: 23 sts x 30 rows on needle size 3.5 mm in pattern = 10 x 10 cm.
Moss stitch: 1st row: K1, P1. 2nd row: P over K, K over P. Repeat 2nd row.
Bobble: Inc to 5 sts in 1 st by knittin into front and back of st alternately. Knit 3 rows stocking sts over these 5 sts. Now lift st 1, 2, 3 and 4 over st 5.

Back and front piece: Knitted back and forth on circular needle from mid front. Cast on 239-251-269 sts on circular needle size 2.5 mm and knit 3 cm moss st, at the same time knitting a bobble in every 6th st on first row – make sure to have 5 sts before the first bobble and 5 sts after the last bobble. Change to needle size 3.5 mm, continue in pattern (see diagram) and inc 4-8-6 sts evenly on first round = 243-259-275 sts. Remember your knitting tension. When piece measures 21-21-22 cm knit next row as follows: 59-63-67 sts = front piece, cast off 4 sts for armhole, 116-124-132 sts = back piece, cast off 4 sts for armhole, 60-64-68 sts = front piece. Now complete each piece separately.

Left front piece: = 60-64-68 sts. Dec to shape the armhole on every other row: 2 sts 1-1-3 times and 1 st 1-2-2 times = 57-60-60 sts. When piece measures 29-28-30 cm dec to shape the neckline on every other row: 5-6-7 sts 1 time, 1 st 17 times = 35-37-36 sts. Cast off remaining sts when piece measures 46-46-48 cm.

Right front piece: = 59-63-67 sts. Like right front piece, but mirrored, and dec 1 less st on the first dec for neckline.

Back piece: = 116-124-132 sts. Dec to shape the armhole as described for front piece = 110-116-116 sts. When piece measures 44-44-46 cm cast off the middle 32-34-36 sts for neck and dec 2 sts on every other row 2 times on neckline. Cast off remaining sts when piece measures 46-46-48 cm.

Sleeves: Knitted round on double pointed needles. Cast on 72-72-72 sts on needle size 2.5 mm and knit 3 cm moss st, at the same time making a bobble in every 6th st on first round. Change to needle size 3.5 mm, continue in pattern (make sure to have a pattern repeat mid upper sleeve) and inc 2-6-6 sts evenly on first round = 74-78-78 sts. At the same time after the moss sts edge inc 2 sts mid under arm a total of 24 (26) times as follows: Size S + L on every and every other round alternately, Size M on every other round = 116-116-120 sts. When piece measures 16-16-17 cm cast off 8 sts mid under arm and finish the sleeve back and forth on needle. Cast off for sleeve cap each side on every other row: 5 sts 7 times for all sizes. Cast off, sleeve measures approx 21-21-22 cm.

Assembly: Join shoulders. Pick up approx 75 to 85 sts along left front piece on circular needle size 2.5 mm and knit 3 cm moss st back and forth on needle. Cast off. Repeat along right front piece, but after 1 cm make 7 buttonholes evenly distributed on row. 1 buttonhole = cast off 2 sts and cast on 2 new sts on return row. Pick up approx 160 to 170 sts (divisible by 6 + 5) round the neckline on needle size 2.5 mm and knit 2 cm moss, at the same time making a bobble in every 6th st on first round – make sure to have 5 sts before the first bobble and 5 sts after the last bobble. Cast off. Set in sleeves and sew on buttons.
