Pattern instructions

Knitting Tension: 17 sts x 22 rows on needle size 5 mm in pattern = 10 x 10 cm.
Rib: *K1, P1*, repeat from *-*.

Back and fron piece: Knitted back and forth on circular needle from mid front. Cast on 172-176-182 sts on circular needle size 3 mm with brown and knit 3 cm Rib, but change to off-white after 1st row. Change to needle size 5 mm, continue in M.1 and inc 20-28-34 sts evenly on first row = 192-204-216 sts. Remember your knitting tension. After M.1 knit 3-4-6 cm with off-white, knit M.2, 3-4-6 cm with off-white and then M.3. At the same time when piece measures 43-47-51 cm knit next row as follows: 46-49-52 sts = front piece, cast off 4 sts for armhole, 92-98-104 sts = back piece, cast off 4 sts for armhole, 46-49-52 sts = front piece. Now complete each piece separately.

Front pieces: = 46-49-52 sts. Dec to shape the armhole on every other row: 2 sts 2-2-3 times and 1 st 1-3-3 times = 41-42-43 sts. When piece measures 54-56-61 cm dec to shape the neckline on every other row: 2 sts 3 times, 1 st 4 times and then 1 st on every 4th row 3-4-4 times. At the same time after M.3 knit 3-5-6 cm with off-white and finish piece in M.4. Cast off remaining sts after M.4, piece measures approx 68-72-77 cm.

Back piece: = 92-98-104 sts. Dec to shape the armhole and knit pattern as described for front piece = 82-84-86 sts. When piece measures 66-70-75 cm cast off the middle 22-24-24 sts for neck and dec 2 sts on neckline on next row. Cast off remaining sts after M.4, piece measures approx 68-72-77 cm.

Sleeves: Cast on 36-40-40 sts on double pointed needles size 3.5 mm with brown and knit 3 cm Rib, but change to off-white after 1st round. Change to needle size 5 mm and continue in M.5 (make sure to have a pattern repeat mid upper sleeve), at the same time inc 8-4-6 sts evenly on first round = 44-44-46 sts. At the same time after the Rib inc 2 sts mid under arm on every 4th round a total of 21-21-21 times = 86-86-88 sts. At the same time after M.5 continue in off-white until piece measures 27-25-25 cm. Now knit M.3, 3-5-6 cm with off-white and then finish the sleeve in M.4. When piece measures 45-45-46 cm cast off 6 sts mid under arm and finish sleeve back and forth on needle. Cast off for sleeve cap each side on every other row: 3 sts 7 times. Cast off, sleeve measures approx 52-52-53 cm.

Assembly: Join shoulders. Pick up approx 100 to 110 sts along left front piece on needle size 3.5 mm with off-white and knit 3 cm Rib. Repeat along right front piece, but after 1 cm make 6-7-7 buttonholes evenly distributed on row. 1 buttonhole = cast off 2 sts and cast on 2 new sts on return row. Pick up approx 106-110 sts round the neckline on needle size 3.5 mm with off-white and knit 1.5 cm Rib, then 1 row Rib in rust and 1 row Rib in wine red. Cast off in wine red. Set in sleeves and sew on buttons.
