------------------------------------------------------- EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN: ------------------------------------------------------- CHAIN STITCH: If you work outermost on the hook the chain stitch will often be too tight; 1 chain stitch should be as long as 1 treble crochet is wide. CROCHET INFORMATION: At the beginning of each row, replace the first treble crochet with 3 chain stitches. The last treble crochet is worked in the 3rd chain stitch from the beginning of the previous row. PATTERN: See diagrams A.1 and A.2. The diagrams show all rows in the pattern, seen from the right side. Remember, when working from the wrong side to read the diagrams from left to right. MEASURING TIP: All length-measurements are taken when holding the piece up, to prevent the garment being too long when worn. DECREASE TIP: Decrease at the beginning and end of the row: Work the first 3 chain stitches (which replace the 1st treble crochet), work the next 2 treble crochets together as follows: * Make 1 yarn over, insert hook through the next stitch, pick up the strand, make 1 yarn over and pull it through the first 2 loops on the hook *, work from *-* 1 more time (3 loops on hook), make 1 yarn over and pull it through all 3 loops (= 1 stitch decreased). Work as before until there are 3 stitches left on the row, decrease 1 treble crochet in the same way and work 1 treble crochet in the last stitch (= 1 stitch decreased). ------------------------------------------------------- START THE PIECE HERE: ------------------------------------------------------- JUMPER – SHORT OVERVEW OF THE PIECE: The front and back pieces are worked separately, back and forth and bottom up. The pieces are crocheted together. Stitches are crocheted up around the armholes and the sleeves worked back and forth. An edge is worked around the neckline to finish. BACK PIECE: Use crochet hook size 4.5 mm and DROPS Belle. Read CHAIN STITCH and CROCHET INFORMATION above. Work 96-103-110-124-131-145 chain stitches. Work 1 treble crochet in the 4th chain stitch from the hook (3 chain stitches replace the first treble crochet), work 1 treble crochet in each of the next 6 chain stitches, * skip 1 chain stitch, work 1 treble crochet in each of the next 6 chain stitches, *, work from *-* until there are 2 chain stitches left, work 1 treble crochet in each of the last 2 chain stitches = 82-88-94-106-112-124 treble crochets. Read PATTERN and work as follows from the right side: 3 chain stitches (replace the first treble crochet), 1 treble crochet in the next treble crochet, work A.1a (= 6 stitches) 13-14-15-17-18-20 times in width, 1 treble crochet in each of the last 2 treble crochets. Remember to maintain the crochet tension. Continue back and forth as follows: 3 chain stitches (replace the first treble crochet), 1 treble crochet in the next treble crochet, work A.1b (= 6 stitches) 13-14-15-17-18-20 times, 1 treble crochet in each of the last 2 treble crochets. Continue like this until the piece measures 42-43-44-45-46-47 cm – read MEASURING TIP. Now continue the pattern across the middle 11-12-13-13-14-16 repeats of A.1b (1-1-1-2-2-2 repeat less on each side = armhole), as follows: Cut and fasten the strand. Work 1 slip stitch in the 7th-7th-7th-13th-13th-13th stitch, work 3 chain stitches (= edge stitch, replaces the first treble crochet), continue A.1b across the next 66-72-78-78-84-96 stitches, 1 treble crochet (= edge stitch) = 68-74-80-80-86-98 stitches. Continue A.1b back and forth with 1 edge stitch on each side – edge stitches are used when crocheting the sleeves. When the piece measures 59-61-62-64-66-68 cm – remember MEASURING TIP – continue one shoulder as follows: Work 1 treble crochet in each treble crochet and 2 treble crochets around each chain-space, across the first 20-23-24-24-24-31 stitches. Work 1-1-2-2-2-2 more rows across these 20-23-24-24-24-31 stitches, with 1 treble crochet in each treble crochet. Cut and fasten the strand. Work the other shoulder in the same way, starting with 1 slip stitch in the 20th-23rd-24th-24th-24th-31st stitch from the shoulder. There are 28-28-32-32-38-36 stitches for the neckline mid-back. The piece measures approx. 62-64-66-68-70-72 cm. FRONT PIECE: Work in the same way as the back piece but work A.2 instead of A.1, i.e., the lace pattern leans the other way. ASSEMBLY-1: Work the shoulder seams as follows from the wrong side, through both layers: 1 double crochet in the first treble crochet, * 1 chain stitch, skip 1 treble crochet, 1 double crochet in the next treble crochet *, work from *-* along the seam. SLEEVES: Worked back and forth and top down. Start in the corner at the bottom of the armhole. Crochet up 64-70-70-76-76-82 treble crochets around the armhole, working around the edge stitches (stitch count must be divisible by 6 + 4) – remember CROCHET INFORMATION. RIGHT SLEEVE: Work 1 treble crochet in each of the first 2 treble crochets, A.1a until there are 2 treble crochets left, work 1 treble crochet in each of the last 2 treble crochets –gives the sleeve symmetry. Continue with A.1b back and forth with 2 treble crochets on each side. When the sleeve measures 5-6-6-9-9-9 cm, decrease 1 stitch on each side – read DECREASE TIP. Decrease like this, inside 1 edge stitch every 3-3-4-3-5-5 cm a total of 6-7-5-6-4-4 times = 52-56-60-64-68-74 stitches – make sure the pattern is continued upwards while decreasing. When the sleeve measures 28-28-28-29-28-25 cm, work the last row as follows: 1 treble crochet in each treble crochet and 2 treble crochets around each chain-space. LEFT SLEEVE: Work 1 treble crochet in each of the first 2 treble crochets, A.2a until there are 2 treble crochets left, work 1 treble crochet in each of the last 2 treble crochets. Continue with A.2b back and forth with 2 treble crochets on each side. When the sleeve measures 5-6-6-9-9-9 cm, decrease 1 stitch on each side – remember DECREASE TIP. ASSEMBLY-2: Start by sewing a to A on each side of the sleeve under the armhole - see sketch. Then work the sleeve seam in the same way as the shoulder seams. Work the side seams in the same way as the shoulder seams, from the armholes downwards, stopping 10-10-11-11-12-12 cm from the bottom edge to leave a split in each side. NECKLINE: Start by working 1 slip stitch in one shoulder seam. Work as follows: * 2 chain stitches, skip 1½ cm, work 1 double crochet *, work from *-* around the neckline, work 1 slip stitch in the first slip stitch. Cut and fasten the strand. |
