Cushion in domino pattern in DROPS Fabel
DROPS 109-59 |
|
DOMINO DIAMOND 1 Domino diamond measures approx 11.5 x 11.5 cm. Whole Domino Diamond: Insert 1 Marking Thread (MT) in the middle st. Row 1 (= WS): K all sts. Row 2 (= RS): K all sts until 1 st before MT, slip 1 st as if to K, K2 tog, psso, work remaining sts on row. Repeat row 1 and 2, i.e. dec 2 sts in the middle of diamond on every other row until 1 st remain. Do not cut the thread, see pattern and work diamond 2, 3 & 4 and now cut the tread and pull through remaining st. Knitting tip: Always pick up sts from the RS. CUSHION: Cast on 55 sts with Fabel on needle size 3.5 mm. Work 1 domino diamond – see above. Remember the knitting tension! Do not cut the thread but pick up 27 sts – see Knitting tip - along the left side of the first diamond (= diamond 1) and cast on 28 new sts, the first of these is the middle st - see Fig-1, showing the order in which the diamonds are knitted. Work 1 diamond (= diamond 2), and then 2 more diamonds in the same way (= diamond 3 and 4), cut the thread. There are now 4 diamonds on Line 1. Line 2: Cast on 28 sts, pick up 27 sts along the right side of diamond 1 from Line 1 = 55 sts. Work diamond 5, do not cut the thread, but pick up 27 sts along the left side of diamond 5, pick up 1 st between diamond 1 and diamond 5 and pick up 27 sts along the right side of diamond 2. Work diamond 6, and then diamond 7 and 8 in the same way. Line 3 to 8: Like Line 2. Assembly: Fold cushion double and sew tog at sides – sew in the outer loops of sts to avoid a chunky seam. |
