GARTER ST (back and forth on circular needle): K all rows. TIP FOR SWITCHING THREADS: To avoid visible threads start with a new ball at the beg of the row and not in the middle of the piece. -------------------------------------------------------- SHAWL: Worked back and forth on circular needle, work from mid back of neck and down in Garter st - see explanation above. Cast on 2 sts on circular needle size 4.5 mm with 1 thread Alpaca and 1 thread Kid-Silk. Work as follows: 1st row (= RS): K 2 sts in each st = 4 sts. 2nd row (= WS): K while AT THE SAME TIME working 2 sts in first and last st = 6 sts. 3rd row: K 1, 1 YO, K 4, 1 YO, K 1 = 8 sts. 4th row: K all sts. 5th row: K 1, 1 YO, K 2, 1 YO, K 2 (= middle sts), 1 YO, K 2, 1 YO, K 1 = 12 sts. 6th row: K all sts. Insert a marker in the middle 2 sts. 7th row: K 1, 1 YO, K until the middle 2 sts, 1 YO, K 2, 1 YO, continue to K until 1 st remain, 1 YO, K 1. 8th row: K all sts. Repeat 7th and 8th row until piece measures approx. 60 cm measured up along mid back - adjust so that the no of sts can be divided by 3 sts + 2 edge sts in each side. WAVY EDGE: 1st row (= RS): 1 st in garter st, K 1, * K 1, P 1, K 1 *, repeat these 3 sts from *-*, finish with K 1, 1 st in garter st. 2nd row (= WS): 1 st in garter st, P 1, * P 1, 1 YO, K 1, 1 YO, P 1 *, repeat from *-*, finish with P 1, 1 st in garter st. 3rd row (= RS): 1 st in garter st, K 1, * K 1, 1 YO, P 3, 1 YO, K 1 *, repeat from *-*, finish with K 1, 1 st in garter st. 4th row (= WS): 1 st in garter st, P 1, * P 1, 1 YO, K 5, 1 YO, P 1 *, repeat from *-*, finish with P 1, 1 st in garter st. Continue to inc like this on every row so that the K-sections seen from RS are inc. When the wavy edge measures approx. 3 cm, loosely cast off all sts. |
