Is it true that this pattern is made using three kinds of yard. So if I want to make this sweater I have to use 200 grms of each of the yarns mentioned.or is it that we can use any one of the yarns. Thanks.

Dear Mrs Saroj, you will find amount of each of required yarn for each size under tab "Materials", ie in first size you need 100 g Bomull-Lin (= 2 balls) + 100 g Passion (discontinued yarn see here how to find an alternative + 50 g Vivaldi (= 1 ball). Happy knitting!

Knitted DROPS jumper, worked from side to side in 3 qualities
DROPS 82-28 |

Knitting tension: Remember needle size is only a guide! 10 stitches x 16 rows with needle size 5 mm and pattern = 10 x 10 cm. Ridge/Garter stitch (back and forth on needle): 1 ridge = Knit 2 rows. Pattern: Row 1 = right side - it is important to change strands on the side towards the back piece, i.e. on the right side when you start working. Rows 1 and 2 (Bomull-Lin): Right side, Knit (= 1 ridge). Row 3 (Passion): * K1, 2 yarn overs *, repeat from *-*, finish with K1. Row 4 (Passion): Knit at the same time as the yarn overs from previous row are dropped (= dropped stitches). Rows 5 and 6 (Bomull-Lin): Knit (= 1 ridge) Row 7 (Vivaldi): * K1, 2 yarn overs *, repeat from *-*, finish with K1. Row 8 (Vivaldi): Knit at the same time as the yarn overs from previous row are dropped (= dropped stitches). Repeat rows 1 to 8 upwards - NOTE: So that the distance between yarn changes is not too great, work the first stitch on rows 3 and 7 in pattern with 1 strand Passion + 1 strand Vivaldi. Knitting info: The jumper is worked in one piece from side to side. You start by casting on at bottom of one sleeve and then increase for front and back pieces, then decrease again and work down the second sleeve. So that you have room for all the stitches, the piece is worked back and forth on circular needle. --------------------------------------------------------- Jumper: Loosely cast on 24-24-26-26-28 stitches with circular needle size 5 mm and Bomull-Lin. Work pattern - see description above - to finished length. At the same time, when piece measures 14 cm increase in each side: 1 stitch every 7-5.5-5.5-4.5-4 cm a total of 6-7-7-8-8 times = 36-38-40-42-44 stitches - the increased stitches are worked into the pattern as you go. When piece measures 51-51-50-49-47 cm (= sleeve) insert 1 marker thread - the piece is now measured from here! Continue by loosely casting on in each side every 2nd row (i.e. at the end of each row): 10 stitches 2 times and then 12-13-14-15-16 stitches 1 time = 100-104-108-112-116 stitches on needle. Continue pattern. When piece measures 12-13-15-17-20 cm (from the marker thread) work the next row as follows from the right side: 49-51-53-55-57 stitches = back piece, cast off 5 stitches for neck, 46-48-50-52-54 stitches = front piece. Continue working front and back pieces separately. Front piece: = 46-48-50-52-54 stitches. Continue to decrease for neck every 2nd row: 2 stitches 2 times and 1 stitch 3 times = 39-41-43-45-47 stitches. Work until neck opening measures 10-12-12-14-14 cm – lay piece flat and measure straight over the shoulder from where you divided the front and back pieces. Then cast on loosely towards neck every 2nd row: 1 stitch 3 times, 2 stitches 2 times and then 5 stitches 1 time = 51-53-55-57-59 stitches – the increased stitches are worked into the pattern as you go. After all the stitches are cast on, the neck opening measures approx. 16-18-18-20-20 cm, place stitches on 1 thread. Back piece: = 49-51-53-55-57 stitches. Work pattern until neck opening measures approx. 16-18-18-20-20 cm (adjust to after the same row as on front piece). Front + Back pieces: Place stitches from front and back pieces back on the same circular needle = 100-104-108-112-116 stitches. Continue working until piece measures 37-41-45-51-57 cm - from marker thread - NOTE: Make sure you have worked the same number of rows on each side of the neckline, or the neck will not be straight. Now cast off loosely in each side every 2nd row (i.e. at beginning of each row) 12-13-14-15-16 stitches 1 time and then 10 stitches 2 times = 36-38-40-42-44-46 stitches. Insert 1 new marker thread - the piece is now measured from here! Work approx. 2-4-3-3-5 cm (measure how far you worked on the other sleeve after all the increases before the marker thread at top of sleeve) then decrease 1 stitch in each side every 7-5.5-5.5-4.5-4 cm a total of 6-7-7-8-8 times = 24-24-26-26-28 stitches. When sleeve measures 51-51-50-49-47 cm (from the last marker thread - adjust so that both sleeves are the same length) loosely cast off - allow 1 ridge with Bomull-Lin before casting off. Assembly: Sew sleeve and side seams from the right side in outermost loop of outermost stitch, so that the seam is not thick - NOTE: By the dropped stitches, the strand you are sewing with must follow the same length upwards as the stitches so that the seam is not tight. Neckline: Work lobster stitch with Passion and hook size 5 mm around neck. Lobster stitch = double crochets in opposite direction, i.e. from left to right. |
